Purple Actions

By Ravenhull, in X-Wing

Personally i expect purple actions to be white but can spend force to do after any other action. So Vader could just have his whole bar be purple in future printings.

Purple actions can't be 'spend a force to perform this action in addition to your normal action' or it would render the ship ability pointless. You could just replace the ship ability with a purple boost and purple barrel roll.

This is also true.

In which case just straight up 'spend a force to do this action' is the only one that makes sense with all the available evidence.

Not true at all.

Purple Evade + Boost + Barrel Roll would allow top force users to use their whole action bar in a turn, basically turning them all into Vader. The ship ability limits you to one free (at cost of force) reposition, and the purple action would add another option.

Plus , if you can use purple actions as a bonus action by spending a charge, I would guess you still get stressed, like any other linked action or ship ability that mimics linking actions.

Only if it said so, which it wouldn't.

Look at the /sf bar for an instance of a linked action which doesn't cause stress.

Stress being assciated with multiple actions isn't a general rule it's a specific one. Specific to a LOT of instances, but specific nonetheless.

...obviously it doesn’t have to add stress? I’m not trying to find an edge case here, like the TIE/sf. I’m looking for a balanced option, and thus looking to the majority rule.

Losing your Force is bad enough without adding stress into the bargain; it's essentially equivalent to losing a second action already.

For a better action tho.

I’m also not suggesting it won’t or can’t be just spending a force token to take a bonus evade action. People just found that too overpowered, apparently, so I offered a slightly more “balanced” option.

Obviously balance will depend on points more than anything, but yes I still lean most firmly into the bonus action camp, one way or another.

For a different action. Better defence, worse offence.

The ship ability requires that it is used after successfully completing a maneuver. So it would have to be first in whatever order of actions you do on your turn. Also, you couldn't link it off another action if you get coordinated like you could Evade (assuming it's option 1).

there is place on the image for delta-7 expansion pack, but there isn't a evade token, so we don't need an evade token. For the striker, only one target lock is nessecary for understand there is target lock. And x-wing producer known future rules, if purple means bonus action for 1 force, vador would have purples actions in place his power...
