Inferno Squadron

Been away for a bit but I love 2.0 and the flavor of fluffy teams it encourages. I know it won't last forever but I wan't to fly it while I can. Inferno is pretty slick, but they need a kick to get the job done. It seemed like this was a great job for the reaper, coordinating or jamming while getting in close to use the slicer on jammed pilots to keep locks and evades to a minimum. I know swapping hask for how is popular, but I am holding on to the originals as long as possible. Seyns got the afterburners to try to get those early crits, but it may put her out of formation. Also, I am thinking ditch the stealth device for a shield upgrade. Thoughts, feelings?

I am also a fan of the Inferno Squadron. Great synergy, almost puts the Rebels of 2e to shame!

I run mine with more Tie's, because the more the merrier.

I use the same Inferno pilots, but the only upgrade is Marksmanship on Seyn.

Then a little help from Black Squadron with Mauler Mithel/Swarm Tactics and Wampa.

Four 4's and two 5's in the engagement phase is great for a Tie swarm, and Wampa loves shooting at I5.

Left a 4 point mini-bid, just in case.

I'm kind of into the concept of Sloane-ferno. I figure Sloane is good. Inferno Squadron are good. Is this a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup, two great tastes which taste great together?

  • Iden Versio (Crack Shot) 41
  • Del Meeko (Crack Shot) 31
  • Gideon Hask (Crack Shot) 31
  • Seyn Marana (Marksmanship) 31
  • Whisper (Juke, Admiral Sloane) 66
    • This could easily be Echo, for all Init 4 to get movement options. Maybe take off those Crack Shots and get Collision Detector.
  • Total 200, bid 0.
    • Crack Shots could be bid, but I figure Phantoms almost don't care (Juke doesn't mind attacking first, but also doesn't mind arc dodging).

Not the Inferno squad, but I’ve been running Howl and Iden (both with Ruthless), Scourge (with Predator), Wampa, Seyn (with Marksmanship) and an Academy blocker.

Love the idea of Wampa shooting at I5 though, so I may drop Predator and Howl’s Ruthless to add Swarm Tactics on Scourge.

I've been playing around with similar concept, particularly in terms of Ace+Mini-Swarm. The current iteration is
Howlrunner w/ Swarm Tactics, Wampa, Iden w/ Crackshot, Del Meeko w/ Crackshot and Soontir w/ Predator (199 pts)

I've been going back and forth in terms of pilots. Had Seyn at some point which was fun, but then Wampa at I5 is pretty cool. Hask can also be annoying, but Del Meeko's rerolls have also been pretty effective, as have been Howlrunner's. Unfortunately, the last few games have been tough, due to a spike in the number of Punishers flying around. I was interested in trying out a Sloane version (Howlrunnner, Whisper w/ Sloane, 2 Obsidians and 2 Academies).

As I didn't often fly more than 3 ships back in 1.0, it's been an interesting change of pace for me.
