Fat Han w/ Luke Gunner, because someone should!

By SCSkunk, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I know, I know.

But it just needs to be flown, dang it.

So I'm going to load up Han and let him pretend he's still flying in 1e...

Han Solo: Trick Shot, R2-D2, Chewie, Rigged Cargo Chute, Title, Luke Gunner

Jek Porkins: Elusive, Chopper, S-Foils

197 points.

I feel like it is potent enough to take to the FLGS. Two ships is not considered strong, and I know I need more attacks, but still...Han should be able to do laps like he used to and might just be mediocre enough to pull out some wins...

EDIT: Also, been flying Trenchrunners only with pretty solid success rate. Time to try something riskier!

There's less flavor, I feel like I'd switch Chewie and the Rigged Cargo Chute for Engine Upgrade. Boost a lot, still have arc and Han's rerolls. I might be wrong about that strategy, though.

I also kind of want to run Wedge (just Crack Shot), for double 6s.

Flew last night against a Scum Aces list (Fenn, Talonbane, Quinn) and my list fared very well. But I also chose Initiative order and moved after Fenn, which helped a lot!

Han flew around the outside while Porkins basically clogged up the middle by dialing up repeated T-Rolls, regenerating shields and blocking.

This is going to sound odd, but my green dice were on fire, which kind of throws off my results. Porkins took three damage throughout the match, but was at full health at the end with Elusive/Chopper. Han Solo rolled an evade every time and never really used the evade token. Also lost five shields but never took a hull point, so never used R2-D2 or Chewie.

Need to play again tonight and hope for less perfect green dice.

I feel like Han is better on the table than on paper. R2-D2 and Chewie don't have the action efficiency of other combo's (looking at you, Kanan/Jyn) but they do make it harder to get Han to half-points. Add in the fact that Han can reroll ANYTHING, including running over obstacles or if I actually roll a hit with R2-D2, three chances to roll that Evade and an Evade token if you don't...

I did Boost twice, so theBitterFig's suggestion of dropping Chewie and RCC for an Engine Upgrade will continue to be a consideration moving forward. Trick shot was actually hard to proc due to Han's large base, don't think I used it?

So I will fly it again without any changes and hope for average green dice. Porkins is a beast. Another possibility would be dropping Trick Shot/R2-D2/Chewie/RCC and adding an Engine Upgrade to Han and ProTorps to Porkins, but no bid...and easier to get Han down to half...

Meh, more reps tonight and we will see what happens!
