Armada fighters were the first miniatures I never painted. I first did them with a sharpie and after a few months I took the plunge and bought paints. I loved every minute of it. They aren’t great, but they look better than the unpainted ones.
I have repainted a few ships. That was also a good time. I have done mostly accent colors.
Here are some x-wings that I did like Wedge's, Tycho's and Corran's in the Bacta War novel.
Edited by mcworrellAll my rebs have a theme. My Mon Cals are all in shades of blue and grey to indicate the aquatic nature. The Corellians (and other human manufactured ships) are mostly in their standard paint schemes with varying amounts of blue highlights. My son's imps are done in white with red and gold striping to differentiate each ship. Ties are standard grey and black. Reb fighters are in various dual color schemes, i.e. blue squadron, green, etc... All the rogues match the original as best as my failing eyes can master.
Wish it was happier. First snow fell and I ran my car into a parked jeep...after Armada night... (which went well enough i suppose)
I'll get some pics up, but I'm very pleased with my ship repaints, and I have all of my TIEs and Bombers painted as well.
Repaint. Oh, so much to paint, but that's what hobbies are for.
Imps done in mostly grays, though the white and black ISDs are my favorite.
Rebels have a few theams, but my favorite is the Mon Craken MC80 Liberty done up to look like a bioluminescent sea creature.
I cleared a space for pictures today, so I will finally be showing off the Mining Guild, in Yellow with some green and black.
The Corporate Sector Athority, will hit the table, resplendent in copper, with yellow trim.
The Pirates/Mercenary fleet is a completely mismatched collection of ships, as to be expected.
And Finally, the CIS, in the standard grey and blue.
Happy Friday.
happy friday to all, mine will be crappy as always since '98 ?
I paint my minis, or will paint what is still unpainted, now on something else though
Imps in white or bone white, except ssd which will be grey/anthracite, and a Black ISD
Rebs are done with an elemental scheme
Zahn Consortium in browns as in FoC game
@mcworrell failed to show his "modest" repainted ships. These are feats of Armada painting people. what he does is take a rebel ship and black it out. then he accents it with neon orange like it's friggin Tron man. it looks very good and is somewhat intimidating to go up against. especially when it's a fleet of them, fighters included. As for me, I barely have the time to play let alone paint my ships. I also like stock grey triangles.
I don't spend a lot of time painting my own things.
But I do show everyone how they can paint them easily themselves!
Hah. Do I paint my models...
My plan is to paint every single model that I have. It's a work in progress.
Happy Friday!
I've painted fighters, but that's it. Its been a while since I touched them. I may have finally hit a wall painting my Legion stuff... That last batch of Rebel troopers felt more like work than fun.
I am on kid duty tonight so the wife can get together with her other stressed out wives. So, I don't think there is much I'll be doing tonight paint wise while holding a child.
I'll have to find some pictures later.

1-handed TIE fighter panel painting while juggling kid in other hand?

Trust me, it works :) As a father of twins (no, they are not called Luke and Leia...) i must say, that sometimes painting miniatures is wayyyy more than just putting pigments on a given model. Oh, and don't let Toddler-zilla get anywhere near your finished minis or worse: your paint. But that's a story for another friday question. Personally I painted some squadrons, that see playtime regularly, and paint up some more, as soon as i plan to put them on the table.

I'm lucky... The kid is only 4 months old. For now things are ok, but it won't be long before I need to clean up when I finish painting.
Well it snowed today! Apparently it's winter in The northwest now
I am lucky to have a son who likes to paint his figures from other games he plays. He has handled all my Armada painting needs.
I normally just put some accent paint to identify each ship but I attempted dazzle camouflage on my 3rd VSD. I won't be trying that again.
I do paint squadrons but stick to canon colour schemes. Four X-Wing squadrons were inspired by X-Men uniforms, 2 by RCN paint schemes from the '50s, and my E-Wings are painted like USN fighters from WW2. A-Wings, Lancer, Headhunters and VCX-100s are in RAF camouflage from WW2 and after. I came over from Flames of War. My YT-1300 has the punisher symbol, while my YT-2400 has the Deadpool symbol. I'm thinking my Firesprays should be painted like '60s/'70s goalie masks.
