Interesting. Didn't see this coming at all! This could be great Age of Rebellion RPG fodder

I'm less interested in a show where I already know the ending. In my eyes, the prequels suffered from this, and it's going to be a problem for me again here.
My AoR campaign is set at this time, so I want to absorb all!
I am looking forward to the show! Hopefully Alan Tudyk will be announced in the cast too...
We actually have Andor as a reacurring NPC in our Edge-Age crossover. I'm excited to see him in action again, especially as the take-no-prisoners rebel intelligence agent he was before meeting Erso.
Cool! I won't be getting Disney just for one or two shows, but they'll show up other places eventually.
I hope we get to see more of the A280-CFE in action too, in its multiple configurations.

I loved the gritter vibe of Rogue One, with characters quite morally gray.
But I am concerned. Cassian's past is supposedly filled with murder, assassinations, and I assume terrorist-like acts. How will this air-able on Disney?

Between the Star Wars shows and the Marvel shows that have been teased (Loki, Scarlet Witch, and Falcon/Winter Soldier), sounds like it’ll be worth the “less than Netflix” subscription fee for me.
Definitely sounds intriguing. ?
I'm interested, but I agree with Happy. We already know how it ends, so it'll have to be a bit more engaging than a show with a more open end.
Also
1) The airlock is open for some epic K2-SO memes... Yessssss
2) I originally read this as "Cassian Andor Live" show... Not sure what a late-night talk show hosted by Cassian Andor would be like, but I'd probably watch a few episodes....
It would be cool to meet some of the Kelly's Heroes style rebels that met their fate on the beaches as well.
I agree that it faces a challenge in that we already know how it ends.
That said, I saw Serenity before I saw Firefly, and while an unusual journey getting to know those characters, in particular Alan's character, I still enjoyed it.

Oh yeah! Maybe it will be like a 50's/60's "posing as a Nazi Imperial" type show. Or at least some episodes. That would be cool.

That's a pretty blinkered view of what the show could be. Yes, Cassian dies, but there are plenty of other characters and story lines that will most likely be explored. We may even see more of Ackbar at last!
Sounds good to me. He's my fav new character they've come up with.
I guess I'm the only one who wants them to reveal they're Phil Coulson him and Jyn with a series set after the battle of Scariff?
If Phasma can survive to be wasted as a character in tlj then they can reveal that beach scene was a dream and they actually passed out in that lift which descended deep underground within that hardened Imperial Facility.
Yes the uppermost transmitter towers was clipped by a low powered Death Star blast but if you're going for a Guns of Navarone then why not go all the way with a Force Ten from Navarone sequel?
Search your feelings you know this to be true a subversion that's actually good!
Edited by copperbellConsidering the time period of the show I wouldn't be surprised to see some cameos from the Phoenix Squadron somewhere along the way. Or maybe even Ahsoka.
Regarding the notion of already knowing how Cassian dies...
Quote
Person One: So, my grandpa used to tell me this story about his time with the Army during the Korean War...
Person Two: Wait, wait... Isn't your grandfather dead?
Person One: Um, yeah, but...
Person Two: I don't need to hear this story. I already know how it ends. There are no stakes.

Well, by that logic you should have hated all the movies then!
For many, myself included, the story in between is still interesting.
They just need to make the How it should have ended video canon. K2SO swoops in on a stolen shuttle after uploading his data into one of the other droids in the facility.

I stand by my belief that Ahsoka's redesign for Rebels was just as much about making her look more like Ashley Eckstein as it was adapting her look to the new show. Seriously, look at the redesign next to Eckstein, they basically set it up so she could pull of playing her in a live action production.

While I can't comment on her showing up in this particular show one way or another... I see your point.
I was thinking something similar when Lars Mikkelsen was voicing Thrawn.

Dang, that's good too.
I agree, it's far from any kind of confirmation, but Filoni totally seems like the kind of guy to give actors he likes a leg up like that. I mean I can totally see some d-bag casting director/director selecting Helena Bonham Carter or Ariana Grande for Ahsoka Live because"she's so hot right now" or something. But at least making the characters look like the actor essentially ensures they get an audition.
