That's exactly what I thought when I saw this video on YT.

Probably going to be aimed at the same age group Tombstone was. Rebel spec ops aren't exactly the nice guys...

Wat

I'm down for this.

I'll watch it. Cassian said I had to.

Cassian Andor is/was a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic's (Rebels') Special Operations group. His boss is the one that told him to kill Jyn Erso's father instead of retrieve him. Cassian was following orders when he set up to snipe Erso, but broke them when he didn't follow through. Rebel Spec Ops aren't/weren't nice people, they are/were more than willing to use Mafia style tactics and assassination to achieve their goals. Not exactly kid friendly. Tombstone (the movie with Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday, not the syndicated TV series) was a Disney production, it also wasn't child friendly being marketed to adults (IIRC it was rated R here in the States).

Sucks that it’s on Disney +!!!! We don’t all have access to good internet. Screw you AT&T since you “Have no plans to bring broadband internet to your community!”

Thinking more about this. It REALLY excites me. I love the Galactic Civil War era and want to see more of it. Great potential for this show but will it live up to it? K2SO? I’ll be surprised due to the digital cost. Will we see T-65s, A-Wings, B-Wings?? Live action crossovers of Rebels characters? VADER???

Don't have time to watch the video but I suspect it will be the same actor? I hope the show has more u wing action and k2so

Announcements like this make me wonder who is picking the stories for new Star Wars anything. Can anyone describe Cassian Andor as a character without describing what his job is? I love the galactic civil war era too, but this guy really just comes across as a blank slate for me, as does Jynn while we're talking about it. He does stuff, I guess he's a little heroic, but we really don't know anything about him apart from the fact that he dies, and likes his droid buddy K2. Hopefully I'm worried about nothing, and this will be another one of those situations where the media that comes after the films is just vastly superior to their movie counter parts. lookin at you prequels.

There is the good part... they can build all types of character here, it has great potential.

Cassian: Torn, stoic, and dedicated. Wants things to be better and works towards it. Is willing to get his hands bloody if needed but after working with Jyn starts to prefer not to...

Jyn: Resourceful, independant, pained. Hates the Empire and everything it represents but preferrs not to take things to the extent her mentor does.

First episode will probably be him getting K-2SO so he can be in the show as well. Unless that would be too expensive to do.

I wonder if Smits or Reilly will be back to play bail organa and mon mothma respectively.

I have a feeling K2SO will be in the show but will not be a constant. Featured in one or two episodes, occasionally shown in other episodes.

One of the things that did annoy me in the 'Rebels' TV series (which this will basically be set in parallel to, although presumably in the rougher parts of the galaxy than the otherwise-idyllic and distant Lothal, that was very late to the Empire's control)…

...so much of the series the Rebels had nothing ...they eventually show up with trainer A-Wings...go to great lengths to steal a handful of Clone Wars-era Y-Wings literally from the scrapyard before they are destroyed ...

...and suddenly, out of nowhere, they all have X-Wings in the last season - one episode as above, next episode everyone has X-Wings. Seriously. WTF?

That whole 'defection of Incom' thing was a major arc in EU-era material. And it lines up perfectly with this timeline.

So...?maybe we finally found out where the Rebels get X-Wings from?

Considering the U-Wing is also Incom and is heavily associated with Cassian and other specops guy in my mind, I think that would be a pretty cool plot to go with.

On the plus side that means that they have tons of room to develop his character, Maul got tons of growth through Clone Wars and Rebels compared to his appearance in TPM.

I could be remembering wrong but I think someone said they didn't want the Spectres to be involved in getting all of ships/stuff for the Rebels. But yea, it would be great to see that on screen and Cassian could easily be worked into that.

Sounds interesting, but i despise shows that only get released "Streaming" wise.. as that to ME is a disservice to all of us who DON'T stream.

That is seriously exciting news!

Sound good to me. Rogue One is the best thing to come out of Disney's Star Wars as far as I'm concerned. There's plenty of stories to tell in the pre-A New Hope era, and Cassian Andor has plenty of potential for character development. Plus the potential for more Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, General Draven, General Merrick, Admiral Raddus and of course K-2-FN-SO (even if just occasional appearances/cameos) means there's a lot to look forward to here.

Finding out more about Rebel espionage/sabotage/intelligence operations? More from Alderaan and Yavin IV? More U-Wings? More Y-Wings? Maybe FINALLY seeing the Rebels "liberate" the T-65 Incom Engineers from the Empire?

Yeah, consider me all in on this one.
