Yes it does.

On a related note, the boss of the third level does not count as the final boss and does not give the extra CT/gold if you're in a rumour or legendary area that goes to 4. (Or in the OL's keep, but by then you're probably not too worried about it.)

Also on a related note, if there are two (or more) named "bosses" on the final level, you gain gold and XP for both!

All Legendary have 4 levels, 3 "normal" levels then the special 4th Legendary level. The final battle has 5 levels (4 normals and the final boss-level). Rumors only have 3 levels (2 normals and the 3rd Rumor level).
