We are to round one of the Patron play in tournament for the Aces league. The pilots have submitted their lists and will be playing this week. I'll do my best to keep updated when the games will be in case anyone wants to watch. The format is a 19 round VASSAL game. To the Matchups!

Matchup 1
Analysis: Junkyard swarm vs 2 Phantoms and Soontir. This is going to be a good match! Every ace is threatend by those Quadjumpers. But Morgan will have perfect board knowledge with all 3 of his ships. I think this comes down to how well Joe can Corral Morgan's ships and keep his Tugboats alive. While I don't think this is exactly the matchup Morgan wanted, I think any one of his ships can carry this.

Analysis: 199!? Really!? Neither of you could have dropped a point? People are running 183 nonsense now! Ah well, A lot of this game is going to come down to the initiative bid. If either list can avoid the first redline torpedo they'll have a good shot at snowballing. Lets talk about how these lists win with lower PS. Matt, with 2 PS 5's can steal board knowledge by eliminating Silver's Redline. From there he can dance with Rexler. Silver has multiple blocking opportunities and firepower, so if he keeps arc he still has a shot.

Kevin Leintz:
Analysis: I love that Kevin disregards the "Wedge is bad" narrative and runs him. That being said this is going to be an uphill battle. Kyle has the bid and is going to have board knowledge on Luke and Wedge. The good news is Luke doesn't care about juke and can regen. I dunno, my head says Kyle and my heart says Leintz.

Matchup 4:
Analysis: Jendon is an interesting way to get around the Player 1 bid. I'm not sure how Mike is going to deal with Soontir though. Certainly there will be plenty of bombs for Hasan to deal with. In the long run I don't see how Mike pulls it out.
