Emon and company

I would appreciate some feedback on this list. My biggest concern is if I should take cheaper support ships to either add another ship or buff Emon.

Hello. What is Your idea about this list? Why You have selected these particular support ships? I'm curious, because without this knowledge I cannot effectively comment :) On the first sight I would say, uncommon choices You have made :P

Emon is the point of the list. I am not sure that I have much thought put into my choice of support ships beyond the fact that they are two of my favorite.

I don't like mines on Emon. He wants bombs to reload.

I have tried Dalan Oberos on the viper and I was not convinced. Maybe I am just bad, but this is what I noticed.

You receive a stress for a fancy move, no action. Question is of you really need this or if the funky barrel roll into focus is off more use. If it were a red maneuver, you could at least trigger elusive...

I think mines are OK, if You also have a bomb for reload action.

Dalan is OK as an elite blocker. Victor has some control to offer. I'm missing here a thought. What You want to accomplish, if You need more firepower, You should upgrade one of these ships to Talonbane or Guri. More control is loading a bit more for Victor and adding ex. HWK-290 or a Quadjumper.

Of course if You want to field stuff You like, it is also a good possibility. But then the performance could suffer, as both Dalan and Victor need more upgrades to perform and You don't have room for that.

- Mines are tougher than 1.0 for sure, but they still have the advantage of going off immediately if you can hit a ship with them, preventing those pesky aces from getting away. Sure, you have to line it up the round before, but Emon is more able to achieve this than most.

- Marauder is better than Andrasta for me. It's cheaper. Re-rolls are great. There are good gunner options.

- Support ships. There are so many good scum ships around at the moment. I haven't flown the two you have listed a whole lot (Viktor a little, Dalan not at all). Quadjumpers are a go to at the moment.

I like Emon's buddies, but I feel like you need more of them to really push targets into kill zones for Emon to drop bombs on. I also like him with Proton Bombs instead of mines for the crit hits and reloads. Maybe Scyks with Ion Cannons for making targets fly right into bombs? Again, I like Hel with Stealth and Oberos is a whoot to fly (I have a list planned with him - I like him with Advanced Sensors for a pre-move focus then pull your maneuver nonsense and pewpewpew modded dice) but I think you need a larger group of friends if possible just as a wave of "pushers".

Build a fortress in the asteroids, then defend it. Boba can be swapped for Cad Bane, or switched to the Gunrunner.

So last night I flew the list in the post above this. It was a ton of fun up against Boba, Gunrunner, and a Lok Revenant with TrajSim and Seismics.

Emon got a Proton Bomb hit in on the scurgg turn one. Then he dropped a mine in Boba’s path. A slug fest broke out on the other side of the board between the Scurrg, 4LOM, and the gunrunners. Then a battered Emon flew in to sling bombs in killing the Scurrg and the “Evil” quadjumper over two turns. Boba splattered the “Good” quadjumper across space. We called it there as we were close to time and we would have had to turn back around to get shots again.

Lessons learned:

• The rock fortress hates seismics (duh)

• I never got to use the mines on the Gunrunner. I would probably switch Boba over to him.

• Between post setup shenanigans and bomb slinging, this list really wrinkled my brain in a way X-Wing hasn’t done recently.

He's my list with Emon with a 15 pts bid. What do you think?

I think that you will have a hard time with only two ships.

Since you are only about 9pts away from a third one, I'd think about making some space for an escape shuttle or such.

Shield upgrade, elusive, ion cannon turret, ablative plating,... maybe the points can be found there.
