I agree with new addon for descent 2 zero chance.

But...for 3rd edition, according to my calculations, the 3rd edition 27,43% chance, but only 13,87% that this 3rd edition will be a good one.

Ok, we dont need Descent 3..we make self adventures how in D&D 1st edition.

This is discussed in another topic.

I hope FFG is reading and realizes that we dont want another Imperial Assault, rather:

- A campaign focused game. NON COOPERATIVE (there's boring gloomhaven for that and it will stay popular for long)
- FFA modes
-Big maptiles to play big open field battles
-And like many said here, scenarios that use the expansions.
-Cool stuff specially for the heroes such as : mounts, mercenaries and global abilities
-And finally: No lieutenant/hero/villan packs.. a tiny piece of plastic for $12usd? Please , the greed! Heroes and monster packs were perfect - and not cheap ;)

There's so much that could be done... but the market right now seems to be only skirmish (collect individual pricey stuff) and cooperative (unfun for many).. Make Descent Great again by being what it was always supposed to be: a playable and fun rpg!

My feeling is the classes (especially the mage class) will still change quite a bit during play-testing. So no teasers here at this point.
The expansion will have a desert theme. However, as we are not including an new map tiles, theme will be a bit limited. At the moment we are focussing mainly on the mechanisc aspects of the expansion and I think that no-one of us is really deep into Terrinoth lore. So, yes, we could need some help in this department.

@leewroy Here you go:

If this is the community expansion you've PM'd me about, then it sounds like a really good news.

I have to say that the Blinded's effect is too strong and easily abuseable with cards like Runic Sorcery (Runemaster), Maledict (Deadborn) and Subdue (Baron Zachareth). Monsters and heroes with low Awareness (1 or 2) have low to none chances of dealing with Blinded spam tactics. The idea is nice so I imagine you would want to change the first part to something like "...on the blue attack die, then discard this card or token." This way it is still a strong effect (for 1 SURGE deny an opponent's attack with the 50% chance, then, if failed, repeat), but in no way an abuseable feature.

Yes, the blinded condition is part of the fan-based expansion I and four other well-known community members are currently working on. Thanks for your feedback, we are currently playtesting some a nd developing other components. Will modify the new condition if we feel it is not balanced.

Shameless self-promotion, I had made a campaign book a while back:

https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1015318/fan-made-campaign-elements-demise

Unfortunately, it only uses the base game contents in terms of tiles, relics, lieutenants.

I am sure whatever comes from the cooperation of Zaltyre, Sadgit & co. will be top-notch stuff and well-balanced (something I missed frequently from FFG official quests).

What I want, is to reuse what I have in more campaigns. And community - created content is always good.

I'll miss the feeling of "completion" on the hybrid classes, but I can live without that.

I'm really impressed by your map. How did you do this ?

I will try this campaign just after playing the one i'm on.

I found Brutalien's campaign a month or so ago, the production quality is incredible - it's definitely worth a look.

WOW! This looks really solid in my eyes. I have to find enough time to test it in 1Q 2019.

Do you guys plan to incorporate this campaign into current/another community expansion? I can imagine some of my Terrinoth Expanded Project content (like OL Basic III, OL Summoner, tons of hero classes and monster groups) can be translated into some bigger campaign+stuff project. But I also get Elements of Demise is supposed to include only Core Box stuff (and that's great for the major proportion of people).

Wow. You realise the perfectionist in me is really gonna have to up my game- was already planning to be really creative with the visuals for my projects, now feel I want to be even more so- that looks amazing. So now added to my long Terrinoth to do list for next year- play test Rugal's work, play test your work, continue developing my own projects,......, paint and assemble all my minis (eek, I have a lot!)

Amazing work Brutalian- looks amazing visually

@Brutalien - any tips for the design work, guidelines for doing maps and so on (I may well beg you to do some maps- I'm not sure I have the same skill level, I'm not really a drawing kind of artist- photo/imagery yep, but drawing not really a talent of mine), your backcover map looks epic. Any tips for the scroll backgrounds for headings in the document and on the map?

FFG need not make any new stuff til 2020 lol, got plenty to try out next year now :)

Wonder if it's worth having some sort of community expansions repository a bit like the community rules guide, so there's something bringing together the various fan expansion projects (possibly split threefold as Upcoming/in development; in alpha/beta playtesting and complete, the best thing about the game is its potential for such new options and it would be good to have all these projects and add ons referable in one place.

Psymia already signaled that he would be happy to host any high-quality community based expansion at http://descent-community.org/

http://descent-community.org/ is a nice option. Psymia already asked me if I want to host/publish TEP on http://descent-community.org/ . And I think it's a good idea.

Thanks for the interest. I have mentioned in the Credits what I had used. However, being a newbie with Photoshop, it definitely took me a really long time to complete. Looking back, maybe getting first acquainted with how layers work (and merge) is important. In the end, I do not have skills, just patience (ahem, stubbornness). If one wants to save themselves some time, they could also try some fantasy map making software. They are usually not free though.
Looking at my map, it feels "packed". I had to keep the Shadow Rune area and expand, so it ended up with too much detail. If you can avoid it and make yours simpler, it will have visually a more concise and clear result.
For scrolls and papyrous-like backgrounds, it's fairly easy to google for them. For the book, I used the background from the Quest Vault generated pages and where needed I filled things in. I think the fonts I found from a post on BoardGameGeek.

Back on topic, what I would also like is the sense of the unexpected and exploration when Heroes play against an Overlord.
I know Descent is not that kind of game and that is what RtL does, but maybe a new campaign could be made where the two sides (Overlord and Heroes) have hidden objectives / knowledge of what lies ahead in a quest. That would mean different booklets and preparation from both sides and most importantly, the replayability would be quite low...
But it's a thought! :)

Firstly wow and congrats to all the people doing fan projects its fantastic.

Secondly to answer the initial question, what I would like it's more app content. I have soon much physical content it's excellent but would love more chances to use it all via the app. I'd happily pay for more app campaigns to use the monsters/tiles/heroes that I already own.

But if more physical content did get produced is buy that too.

I just want the remaining 12 conversion kit heroes rereleased so they can be used in the app. :-)

If some of you are interrested, here is what I worked on from month now.
