I know Admiral Sloane is considered good.
Can Tarkin be good too? Here I've paired him with his best friend, Mr Krennic:
4x Alpha Squadron Pilot (34 each)
Colonel Jendon (46) Tractor Beam (3) Director Krennic (5) Grand Moff Tarkin (10)
Total: 200
First turn, Jendon gets a Lock on Mr Number-One-Target-Bogeyman; second turn Systems Phase, Tarkin gives a Lock to the four Intercepters (or Strikers if you will).
So, ether the Locked target commits to the fight and faces up to 5 Locked, focused attacks (granted the 5 requires improbably good/fortunate flying) or hangs back and the rest of their squad faces up to 5 focused attacks .
I'll try it out in any case.
And yes, I know that as you may loose an Interceptor on the first turn of engagement that the double stress given to the attacker from Admiral Sloane may be better (as well as her opportunistic rerolls), but Locks can hang around if you need to change target priority, plus it's also possible to re-target somebody at will through Tarkin/Jendon later on wherever on the table the target is. The Lambda is unlikely to be as much of a priority target as the initial Locks are already given out on turn 2.
All theory, no practice...
