400 points for kicks

By SpiderMana, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So my buddy and I are gonna fly 400 pts on a 6x3 area this weekend because we need a day of X-Wing Stress Relief.

I guess this topic can just be “what would you put down if you have 400 pts?” if anyone is interested.

My goal is to have essentially two independant squadrons. Planning on putting the A’s with Wedge, B’s with Han, and everyone shoots at i6.

•Wedge Antilles - Red Two (52)
Swarm Tactics (3)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
•R5-D8 (7)

Cool idea with swarm tactics as long as Wedge or Han stick around for a while. Definitely protect them but that could be deadly on the first volley with so many shooting at 6.

I haven't fleshed out a list yet but I have some thoughts in mind that I'd run. Remember that there are certain things that increase in value with more ships on the board, either your own buffs or things that can hit multiple targets.

I think the Darklighter boys would definitely make an appearance. Both their abilities are great for having a lot of ships on the table.

Concussion and Cluster Missiles seem like good ideas too. So either A-wings or Z-95s as carriers for them.

A lot of the U-wing pilots are candidates as well. I'll cook something up in bit.

So 2/3rds of an Epic list... Umm... Why is a mixed cannon Scyk swarm calling to me???

My list was somewhat based on the fact that my friend flew all of the big-name bounty hunters one of the times we’d done an excessively large game before...

This time he brought Seresu, Drea, and as many other cheap ships as he could cram in. The free rerolls on nearly everything made it impossible to do much.

I can imagine. The time taken per round must have been brutal too. That is allot of low init generics paired with 2 strong Swarm boosters.

It went surprisingly quickly overall. I ended up flying Evaan instead of one B since I had the glue break on my B-Wing magnet, and he still absolutely melted both of Han’s wingmen in round one, and Han didn’t last long after. I think I did like... one damage in return? It was rediculous.

Wedge did decently flanking with Green Squadron, but they could hardly push any damage through, even with Wedge’s torp. It was kindof disgusting.

No Mux? Might have made it even worse if he'd had him in. Han or Wedge engaging at init 0 can suck.
