Prince Faolan the duelist Unboxing and overview. 5 dice!?!?
I think 'remove one die icon' means any one symbol, not the entire die. If your opponent rolls a hit and a double-hit, you can remove any one of those hit symbols, not the entire double-hit die.
And Etharyon of the Ailatar becomes downright scary in combination with scions who can't be immediately pursued because when you collided with them, you ended up with an immobilize token. And they're now waiting back at range 1 of you, where you'll grab another immobilize token when you run into them again.

No joke about the scions and Etharyon... It's too much for me to bear haha. I already have ptsd from playing latari.
I wondered myself about this icon thing. You are probably righ, but it is a bit ambiguous. On a hit accuracy they are two distinct icons but maybe a double hit is one icon? I would air on the side that you are correct upon rethinking it.

Snippets from the rules:
QuoteThe attacker can spend surge ( ? ) icons to use abilities
The attacker assigns each accuracy ( ? ) icon to one of the defender’s figure upgrades.
• A figure upgrade can have multiple accuracy ( ? ) icons assigned to it.
The attacker spends mortal strike ( ? ) icons to cause the defender to suffer one wound
The attacker spends hit ( ? ) icons
I'm pretty sure it's the individual icons he's taking out. Otherwise, it would be like blight, where you remove 'one die'.
