What if I told you that you could have used that jackpot to buy
4,000,000
SSDs even after losing half of it to immediate cashout and taxes?
?
I'd enter, were it a MiniatureMarket gift card. CoolStuffInc doesn't stock the stuff I'm looking to pick up.

That might be enough to keep FFG supporting Armada!

I'm pretty confident in saying that one could not actually purchase 4,000,000 SSDs, since I suspect the actual physical number produced will be a small fraction of that amount. Now, if you called FFG and wanted to place a $500,000,000 special order for SSDs... I'm sure they'd stop the presses on every other product and get those factories churning out SSDs around the clock. Still wouldn't bode well for future releases, though.
I think it'd be better for
@LostFleet
to just use that $500,000,000 to buy AsmodeeNA and demand that Armada become an actively supported line. Wait, what's that...? He didn't win the jackpot? Well... there goes that plan...

Almost, I missed about six numbers
?
but If I indeed won, I would have gone far beyond buying AsmodeeNA, one thing I would do is to produce each ship with lights like
@Khyros
ships and minimum 4 waves per year and now I feel like I am trying to get elected rather than fantazing about wining the lottery
joke aside, If I had won 1.6 Billion, I would not have cashed it right away, instead I would opt'ed for 20 years of payment because I know it will take that long for the waves to be released.
I like how positive Crabbok is spinning on this. Makes me happy.
I feel if I won this that it would be a gateway drug and Crabbock is the dealer. First an SSD, then a Bellator from Mel's shapeway shop, then the next huge ship Mel does or a second SSD so you can field the Bellator and it together.
It's a slippery slope my friends so be careful.
Now if you excuse me I'm off to ogle Crabbock's Bellator again.

I love the idea of building a fleet to fight an SSD list, because when your Imperial-loving friend who just got an SSD, you know what they're bringing when they ask you to come over and play Armada.
I like what you're thinking with AG and Minefields, but Fleet Ambush? I can see a SSD + Demo fleet flipping the tables on that objective.

Unless you would then also give all those waves of pre-lighted ships away for free... I think Armada would still be a dead game. The rest of us wouldn't have won that $1.6 Billion, so not sure how you'd expect the rest of us to keep up with 4 Waves a year where the ships came pre-lighted and probably cost $100-300 a piece...
Say what we will be about 0 Waves / Year, but it sure is easily affordable, regardless of one's own budget and financial obligations!

Uh, you sure about that? Since 1973, 60% of the wildlife on the planet has died. Conservative ecological estimates suggest that about 1,000 species per day go extinct, making this the fastest mass extinction the planet has ever experienced. Flying insect populations are down 70% in just the past decade based on two surveys. By 2050, all of the large marine gamefish such as tuna and swordfish are projected to be entirely extinct. Polar ice is melting at a rate that far outstrips even the least-conservative models and estimates, resulting in the arctic regions warming at double the rate projected. The Great Barrier Reef is effectively gone, projected to be entirely bleached soon.
Meanwhile, far-right authoritarian leaders are winning high political positions around the globe, while openly flirting with fascism. For instance, Brazil's new far-right president has boasted that Brazil's Amazon rainforest will be sold off and developed, thus depriving the planet of one of it's last bastions of biodiversity, not to mention that the Amazon rainforest is one of the last great air-scrubbers and oxygen-producers left. The other great air-scrubber and oxygen-producer are the micro-organisms in the oceans, but about 40% of the ocean's surface is covered by giant swirling convergences of plastic trash. Over 90% of the Earth's population breathes toxic air, with lung cancer rates for non-smokers drastically on the rise. P-FAS has been found in most of the world's waterways, and a recent study looking at participants from eight different countries found microplastics in the stools of everyone involved, likely contributing to the rise of inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancers. And the WHO and other organizations continue warn that we are facing potential antimicrobial-resistance epidemics as antibiotics are overused, especially in agriculture.
Welcome to the end game of Late Stage Capitalism. I'd say just take that immediate lump sum payout and enjoy it while you can! Though, I suppose in the crumbling ruins of humanity's twilight, board games like Armada will be the premium form of entertainment, seeing as they can be enjoyed without an energy grid

Well i think it would be chicken coming out of an egg or visa versa, with lights it will sell more ( for non-players) with more production it will be cheaper. Yet true, everyone is complaining about lack of waves but at the same time if there were more waves than people would complain they can't keep up with it financially.
for me, I did not buy SSD yet ( waiting for this giveaway ? ) but if I dont win, the last items I purchased was in January '18 and I know I wont buy anything new for Armada at least till Jan'20 ( probable next wave release), so for 2 years worth of purchase I can live with spending 200 dollars.
And about your last comment, I think Revenge of the Sith is becoming ever more relevant ...

That got dark man. ?
Yeah, this kind of thinking was making me real hesitant to have a child. Because it sure feels like in 36 years on this planet, everything is swirling down the proverbial drains, especially in the last 20 years. And I really didn't want my kid to suffer through what I can only assume is the continuing collapse of mankind. (I am miffed the future hasn't taken a more Trekian turn yet)
But I've got a wife, and since she insisted on kids, well, she gets one.
On topic- I hope somebody who can't otherwise afford the SSD wins. Yeah, I know it's random. Still, never hurts to think.

Man the Eclipse model would be Massive! If it's made to the same scale as the SSD it would be like 2-3 times more material
