Nice. I tried to get my region to go 9th Age, but they were so angry at GW that they went KoW, which I find a poor and utterly nondescript snoozefest.

KoW?

LOL. Oh THAT turdfest...

You thought KoW was an utterly nondescript snooze fest?

Do you also think bears poop in the woods and the sky is often blue?

Yeah, suddenly all the WHFB tourneys in my region went to KoW and all the players were talking about its superiority and how great it was.
Models- Awful
Rules- Perhaps balanced but listhammering is nonexistent
Games- BORING

I'm staying positive also. I think FFG could be better with communication but we will see more Armada products.

I am trying to build a community of armada players from literally nothing. I am known as "the only guy that buys armada stuff" at my LGS. I did a demo and had a little interest. I'm gonna do another and advertise better. It will happen but it's gonna take time.

I enjoyed KoW when all our WFB players moved to it, but ya, didn't find it quite as fun as WFB had been, and got into other games(like X-Wing and then Armada), so my Dwarfs are now languishing. It also tended to die off with a bunch of the players dropping out and others switching to other games. Can't speak to the KoW models, as we just used our existing Fantasy ones.

But back more to the topic, we still have a very active Armada group in our city (or at least one part), as we organize weekly games. All it took was 6 of us running a campaign (and having that fizzle) to convince many to buy in. Then we just keep coming out, and told all of our city wide Facebook groups that you can always get an Armada game at the store we play at on a Thursday night. Between our regular players and a bunch that live in other parts or work random hours, we have between 1 and 5 games going a night, and all it took was a bunch of us coming out regularly (which we were already doing).

The numers also convinced the store to keep ordering tournament kits, so we have those every quarter. Now other store and bits of the city have quieted down, but players know that they can either schedule games at specific stores/houses, or, if they want a fun game, show up and play on a Thursday!

Curious regarding your location.

Ottawa Canada lol, just to make it easier :)

Still no northern NJ folks on here that I know of... *Sigh*

People in my area see ships on the table and get interested but the price sends them back to X-Wing. Maybe two SSDs going at each other will seduce some more to Armada. Some Fleet Packs like the upcoming X-Wing squadron packs will help grow the game.

If the price sends them back to X-wing, the SSD is unlikely to help.

And "Generally" Shows that people who have made investments won't walk away from one when a new one presents itself, even if the new investment is "better", unless they can recoup their initial...

I know quite a few who open say "Armada is great, and its cheaper than X-Wing, but I'm already heavily invested there and can't just drop it."

See, if I keep sinking MORE cost into this fallacy.... where was I going with this?
