Meditation and strife

We tested something like that in the Beta and it came out pretty poorly. Tying Strife removal to a Check (the most prevalent source of Strife) turned out to be somewhat counterproductive. In my experience, this would only work if the Check removed a bigger chunk of Strife (say, half of it) upon a success.

It would be something like a Void/Meditation roll so... no strife? And I like recovering void points. They are scarce in this edition.

Yeah, it should be something like that. And hey, the 'recovering Void Point' part is okay, only the Strife removal is problematic.

Any good suggestions for a "Travel" passion to come up often?

I've had several players make up a travel passion.

One chose air, the others water.

Narrative effect - you know a bit about all the major population centers in Rokugan. You know the distances between all of your clan's major holdings, and to any place you have been before in play.

Mechanical effect - recover 3 strife when traveling between villages, towns, cities, remote shrines, remote temples, and/or specific unusual locations in downtime, and when making travel related rolls in downtime (such as survival to find game or fitness to resist weather or travel-fatigue).
