E-Web Heavy Blaster Team [55]

E-Web Heavy Blaster Team [55]

Basic concept behind this is as follows: Vaders moves up the board with 2 squads of guards. Thats 24 wounds defending on red dice. While they approaching e webs moves and standby's so oponent haea tough call. Waste a attack on eweb to tae the standby away or shoot ad vader with buddys and be in range of ewebs to fire. Of cpurse there are troopers as troops to secure easier objectves and provide fire support and sniper team to shoot from afar. 9 activations is also nice. What do you think?

Not bad. I, myself, have been trying to come up with a Vader-IRG list once they drop. Personally, I have created a rule for myself - never less than 10 activations. It has treated me well thus far. So my 1 critique would be to drop 1 Guard, replace it with a Sniper team, and try to squeeze in another squad, maybe just a naked Stormtrooper squad. I don't mind them, since there is usually is one objective out if the way that you need to 'waste' a squad on. Also, I would convert 1 Stormie into a Snow with flame if possible.

But let's say we keep you list as is, on the turn you play 'New ways to Motivate them', the enemy is going ro be in deep doodoo. So, if I kept your list, I'd maybe throw Tenacity on both, to synergize with New Ways.

I really like! Sad thing cause i was doubt about purchase a single eweb or not... now you crush my head with 2

Gives an extra Red die in melee if you are wounded.

Full disclosure: I have not completely studied or played with the Guard.

But I do wonder if two units is overkill and may create too small a bubble if you plan on moving both with Vader. I am highly intrigued by the Imperial Guard with Vader, and think it may well be a better pairing than with Palpatine. But using the 104 points on for the second unit for something else might yield something more flexible and frightening, and still leave you with a very, very scary Vader core.

I know the whole point of this was the ewebs behind, but I’d say drop the ewebs add more corps. 3 isn’t enough. I think you have to have at least 4 dlt

E webs have the firepower even stormtroopers dlt lack, also of hidden they benefit from barricade cover. Also they can capture objectives. But also i havent played them yet (theyre not yet availabe here) so its all theory crafting. I must play this list and tweak it basedon the perfrmanceof both guards and ewebs.

With single squad protecting vader costs the lives of guards. With 2squads i can take 1 damage to each thuss keeping both squads at 4 models and i have greater objective capturing potential. But as mentionet above its just theorycraft and i need to play it to test its perfrmancr because you might be right and those points could be spent somewhere else.
