Correcting board spaces on Standard 4th ed.

By JCHendee, in Talisman

Many people who are buying / will buy the Upgrade instead of the whole revised edition have talked about ways to correct their boards spaces to match the revised edition. These have come up in various different topics. I thought it might be nice to collect and share ideas on this, especially since FFG was kind enough to provide graphics of the revised spaces in resolutions suitable for print. See http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=267 . Among notions rasied are...

  • print these graphics on adhesive sheets and past them over the board's spaces.
  • print only the textual part and apply in like fashion.
  • print the graphics and adher them to a stiff backing with a thin rubber back side or similar as overlays on the board spaces, avoiding permanently alter the board itself.

Of course there are draw backs to any of these. Putting aside simply memorizing changes (and teaching them to any new player joining the group), does anyone have other notions they'd like to share? Each of us may have different preferences in how to handle this option.
