Lets dissect a game of Legion to phases shall we?

By Susanooo, in Star Wars: Legion

I've been thinking about it recently that game of Star Wars Legion can be dissected into couple of phases:

1: initiation - thats the phase where both players are (probably) out of range on most of the stuff they included in their army or there is a condition like limited visibility that prevents long range fire. Both players try to set up troops in favorable positions (in heavy cover preferably) to gain an edge in the next phase

2: Engagement - thats where most of the firing starts and both armies are basically fresh. Often (at least in my games) players tend to aim and shoot to gain the upper hand (of course there are exceptions when you have range advantage/disadvantage you could try to move into yours/ outside of your opponents range) in the next phase (yea sometimes this phase at least in my games look like a stalemate when both players just aim and shoot with little to no movement but that also depends on a list both players are using)

3: Objective - since most of the objectives right now are scored at round six (again with exceptions) going for them too early can result in exposing your own forces to enemy fire (moving outside of cover under enemy crosshairs) so in my area players tend to go for them at turn 4 or even turn 5 or 6. The thing is: going at them too early puts you at disadvantage but going too late can result in not getting them at all due to suppression and other kind of stuff that slows your guys down and prevents them form reaching those objectives. Also going too late can result in fighting an uphill battle when our opponent went for them earlier and you have to deal with his stuff on those points.
