The event has, what, 20 players attending and they are implementing a penalty such as this? With the Advanced Tournament Structure in the latest FAQ, there is only three rounds and no cut for attendance of under 29 people, meaning that if you didn't submit your list, you are only playing two games and cannot win the event. :)

And if this thread is going off lists that have been submitted, does that mean that those that have registered on time are the only ones that will actually play all three rounds?

I mean, even if they use a custom game structure and do something like three games and a final, with this penalty, you may as well arrive, get your door, top 64. top 32, top 16 prizes and then drink beer and play Alex at Keyforge after your first game.

It’s looking like there will be 20+. The list’s above are only the ones that people have chosen to share. Some players might not want to share their lists prior to Worlds, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t submit them. I would expect almost no one to actually take a loss first round due to not submitting a list. The email went out at least 2 weeks ago, so there was plenty of time to get lists submitted.

Not a single player dropped last year, even players with 1-3 records (there was a bye). I highly doubt we'll see players drop this year as well. With no other real events to compete for you time (and you can't just go pop into a qualifier for GoT or L5R, you have to have already purchased a ticket for those events). It's not Gencon or Adepticon where theres a complete other con to go see.

As for having 5 rounds, that increases value. I'm guaranteed to get 5 games of Runewars in, possibly 7 if I make the top 4 cut and advance. That's a massive amount of value compared to other events.

Yes, you would need to have a score of no lower than 8-3, but that has been done before!

True, won my first two events by going 10 - 1 every round so it's entirely possible.

I'm only messing around. I wouldn't expect anyone to drop. It's a UK thing were people sign up to every event and prize snipe though. Got nothing against it but . . at least share the beer you know?

We are organizing a local event in celebration and that has 12 players. Doesn't even have prizes. BUT it does prove the community is thriving !

Don't matter how many players, Church and Uthuk are still going to win though ya salty meatsacks.

Feels wierd for me to get the press. Bhelliom has won an equal number of events and did it with a faction that was getting bad representation at the time. Also, Ben Fox isn’t to be ruled out either.
