Given that these are all international sellers, it could be that a bubble of stock got stuck somewhere along the line in distribution and is just now reaching the retailer level.

I bagged one new on eBay, a few still on it. Stock is coming from somewhere.

Yup. I definitely agree with this. They are all sellers from the UK specifically, so likely some old stock just finally made it to stores.
