There's been some success with Heightened Perception Luke with Proton's in Europe combined with a similar Han. The Han that's doing well over there has Leia/Lando as Crew and Rigged Cargo. Since Spare Parts is out now, I'm essentially moving the Rigged to Luke that gets other benefits, moving R2-D2 to Han since Luke can now get an extra charge through Spare Parts if needed. I did a test run between Lando and Leia last night. Leia is really nice for mind games in the list. Oli from 186 played against the Han/Luke player in their Hyperspace Trial Final and he'd pop Leia every turn to screw with opponents. However, in my test game my mind wasn't quite working like that. I've had experienced with Lando in the past and now leaning towards him. What I haven't put in my builds before very much was the Falcon Title. The Han/Luke builds that have been doing well in Hyperspace have had that title combined with Lando. It pretty much gives your opponent a lose lose. If I roll an evade, great I got my initial roll, Han reroll, and Falcon reroll. If I get a focus, fine by me, but if I get nothing, the opponent doesn't have a good option to pick.

I haven't had any experience with HP Luke. Only Supernatural. In order to fit Supernatural I'd have to give up Proton Torps. Which isn't so bad in the meta to come. There's going to be lots of ships on the table and Supernatural has won me games versus swarms plenty of times. Super also works well with Spare Parts.

I like how your recent updates are a story of your bid getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger. ;)

Your Han maintains the core of what makes the Fat Han build "NPE" so that's good. And that's still one helluva scary and flexible Luke.

I love it! Depending on local meta and average bit could consider Spare Parts maybe for the extra regen / extra obstacle, both quite useful options for the list.

Cheers.

Going to be running Han/Luke again! Now that Kanan/R2-D2/ID interaction is gone I can go back to my original Kanan/Jyn.

My last couple versions posted didn’t have Supernatural but every time I went to put it on the table I’d switch Supernatural back in. But now that I have a ton of practice with Vader and Afterburners and I’ll be subbing AB in for real this time and I won’t need the Supernatural crutch. The decrease in points on R2-D2 allow me to put him in. Instinctive Aim is only a single point now which is nice for the 4 dice threat so ships get scared even when I don’t have a lock. The one card I am really interested in is Hot Shot. I only have tried it once or twice, but at the time it was the first thing to remove to make room for Supernatural.

Kanan entering Hyperspace is huge! Luke also having premovement again for a low cost is pretty big. Went R2-D2 route instead of Jyn because Jyn is still an action and Precog prevents it. Same reason why I didn’t take Afterburners and also why I spent points on R2-D2 instead of Proton Torps.

Have you settled for 10 pt bid?

I'm also super excited about Kanan in Hyperspace. I was going to try this next game:

(82) Han Solo [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter]
(10) R2-D2
(12) Kanan Jarrus
(4) Trick Shot
Points: 108

(62) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing]

I always thought that the Millenium Falcon + Lando crew was awesome synergy and potential great benefits (if you are willing to gable it 😁 ) for just 8 pts.

Lando's Odds:

  • 14.06% all blanks = either one focus or evade, depends on your opponent (tough call for him if you have the title)
  • 18.75% one focus
  • 28.13% one evade
  • 18.75% 1 evade + 1 focus
  • 14.06% two evades
  • 6.25% two focus

Too bad you can't also fit Jyn 😋

Something like this:

(82) Han Solo [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter]
(6) Lando Calrissian
(12) Kanan Jarrus
(4) Trick Shot
Points: 103

(62) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing]
(5) R2-D2 Astromech
(4)Spare Parts Canisters
(0) Servomotor S-foils
(10) Precognitive Reflexes
Points: 81

Total points: 184

I'm really tempted into giving Luke some torps or missiles, or maybe a gunner for Han... veteran gunnner at 8 pts is expensive, but really increases your damaging potential and gives arc-dodgers a headache.

I think if I take Precognitive, it’s gotta be a 10 pt bid to make sure I can move last. When I ran Supernatural Luke I didn’t have the bid, but I was running Extended and had Jyn. So Luke’d back would be covered with an evade. If I run this version for both Hyperspace events and Extended I think I need the bid.

I’ve thought about using the Falcon Title points for other things like Spare Parts or Burners, but Spare Parts won’t trigger very much with Precog and Burners either won’t trigger or I could do the same thing with Precog.

Yeah I love Proton Torp Luke, I have thought about making room for it, but the bid is smaller and it’s harder to pull off with Precog. I’ve tried Hot Shot on Han and felt it made me make bad decisions, haven’t tried VTG yet.

With VTG you are left with 8 pts bid, and you can attack more times with 1/2 your list... looks increasingly better the more I think about it.

If you drop spare parts you get a 12pt bid...

I personally wouldn’t go the VTG route. My way of flying han is flying near the board edge R3 from the enemy so I would totally waste the VTG shot, but it might suit your playstyle if you fly differently.

Spare parts should be used those turns you’ve disengaged and are running away, to recharge R2. Then you can engage back using precog

I thought Han called to be flown around the asteroids...

I would keep canisters and go with 8pt bid.

Indeed! I did quite well with Han/Corran before the ID nerf, so I think I’ll be able to fly this as well.

Try it with VTG and see how it goes...

First I need to manage to get a game at all... my local community is tiny... and schedules are tight (the fact that my second child just arrived doesn't help). I guess Fly Casual it is...

How about dropping spare canister and crackshot, and giving Han Snap shot? 9 pts is expensive, but range 2 fire cone is huge, and Han reroll is no die modification.

With VTG gunner, set your turret sideways and cover LOT or area, or gor double tapping...

Trick shot is so good with Han, I wouldn’t drop it. And Han’s reroll isn’t a reroll, but it is a modification. It won’t work while blinded, for example...

I see, txs for the headsup

How do you feel about swapping Luke for Corran Horn w/FCS, Predator, Protorp and R4 for 85 pts?

Edited by LUZ_TAK

Has anyone had any luck building with Han and the newly HS legal VCX? I like the idea of a Saw + Magva Lothal as support to a TS, Kanan, R2-D2 Han but not sure how it compares to the Luke stuff that is growing in popularity.

I don’t have 2.0 E-Wing stuff or I’d try it. Corran is definitely good, just takes practice I’m sure.

Think it’s more of a play style choice. The ghost with built in mods and 4 dice with a ton of health can probably trade itself for enough stuff for Han to have a favorable mid/late game versus whatever is left. Luke doesn’t provide that initial burst but allows himself to be a substitute for the end game and playing bait and switch throughout the early/mid game.

Back on Han/Luke again after a brief testing with First Order for Kyber Cup. I'll be starting Corona Renegade TTS Tournament Monday and they're giving out a Falcon Dial cover for Top 4 Rebel players, so thought it would be a great time to bring it out again. I've played with this version a few times before Kyber Cup. I've liked it, Spare Parts has come in key giving Han an extra area for debris and every now and then an extra shield.

I like it. I feel like I'd consider R2-D2 on Han, and some other Astromech on Luke (an R5? generic R2?), but possibly only consider it. Might come back to the original version.
