I think I may have been playing the Doom agenda advancement incorrectly. I have been flipping the card immediately the moment a new doom token is revealed that exceeds the doom agenda requirment (for example, if one is placed with a newly spawned enemy), even if this means that the player has actions left over. However, do I wait until the specific doom section of the turn phases to flip the card, even if the doom tokens exceed the number needed to advance the agenda? I know this is a simple thing, but flipping during a player's turn may change the game quite drastically!
Doom Agenda Question
You usually check for Agenda advancement after you place Doom on the Agenda at the beginning of the Mythos phase. That is the only time you check for advancement, unless the action that placed the doom says "This will allow the agenda to advance", example: Ancient Evils.

Can be abused, too, and often is, by a mystic. If you konw the agenda is going to advance anyway, play all your cards that generate doom. Blood pact, arcane initiate, Dr. Renfield, just spam that doom.
Cheers, that is what I thought!
It's not really abusing, it's waiting for a "significant tactical advantage. " ![]()

Which fits in well with the mystic theme. They are often on the edge of the precipice thematically. The advantage is you get to peer over it every once in a while and see what is coming if you are brave enough.
Knowing when to use the tools of the enemy to give yourself an advantage without tipping the scales is what makes a good mystic.
