I am glad the kit cost was not increased to include something that is essentially useless for me. If you need a base for every ship you own then wait for the base kits to come out for medium bases.i allready have way more medium bases then I need just from the reaper, saws, and the conversion kits.
While I don't think the conversion kits were unfair I would prefer to have a medium base for each model I have that will use one for 2nd Edition. The way I prefer to organize and transport my pieces is such that the model, pegs, base, tokens, and maneuver dial stay together to speed setup and tear down and filling the bag up before game night. If I have the foam with the ship I have all the parts to put a ship on the table except the cards.
Having to move medium bases between trays creates the possibility of showing up without all the correct parts for a ship I planned to play. It is no big deal and just means some more checking before heading out. I just prefer not having to shift lots of stuff around when economically avoidable an additional Scum conversion kit is not economical. I certainly hope 2nd Edition bases and pegs packs are released with additional medium bases or just some with medium bases. I'd really like some red ones for my ARCs.
