A question about the LCG

By theslinger0056, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

Hi i played this game a lot when it was a CCG and i was looking to play again. My questions are these

1. What sets are legal in tournament play if any from the CCG

2. What would i need to get back in? (chapter packs and what not)

3. Is there still organized play?

4. What sets or chapter packs are legal today?

Any help from you guys would be very much appreciated.

thank you

1 and 4 = here

2 = any cards from the legal setsof your choice. Best bet is a big box though. either the core set (not readily found right now thouhg) or the Kings of the Sea or Princes of the Sun expansions.

3 = yup and regionals

hey thanks a lot man

what sets would you say is the best to buy from. also in these chapter packs are there 4 of each card or just one

i don't think there is one set that needs to be bought from above all others for the LCG events. I'd start with the Core set and princes of the sun though.

each chapter pack in print has 40 card, 10 are 1x and then the remaning 30 are made up of 10 different cards at 3x of each.

the game has changed a lot since i played it. Like i've never seen this taxation phase

It's not like the kid grew a new arm or anything. To put it into perspective with the CCG, when the LCG started, they modified the rules around counting gold so that instead of throwing out your extra gold at the end of Marshaling, you keep it for the rest of the round, allowing you to use it as another resource to pay for effects. Then you throw out any extra gold at the end of Taxation. Essentially, they just extended the gold resource.

It looks huge, but in practice, it isn't that deep of a change.

ah nice. yeah thats a pretty cool feature. im looking forward to playing again i just have to see if there are any people here in Winter, Park Florida who play. this game isn't as big as magic even though i think it is 100% better

There's got to be someone in the greater Orlando area that's playing. One of the Regionals is scheduled in Orlando on June 19th.

RJM (clicking will lead you to his profile where you can send him a friend message which will go to the e-mail he used to sign up) used to be fairly active on the boards and is in FLA.
