Rebel Juke List

By CBS Ink, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Is this Rebel Juke Squad List enough to work?

K-wing
(3) Esege Tuketu - (81)
Barrage Rockets (6)
Perceptive Copilot (10)
Proton Bombs (5)
Advanced SLAM (3)
Hotshot Gunner (7)

A-wing
(3) Arvel Crynyd - (40)
Juke (4)

A-wing
(3) Green Squadron Pilot - (38)
Juke (4)

A-wing
(3) Green Squadron Pilot - (38)
Juke (4)

Total: 197/200

All A-Wings would Evade and maybe Boost to a better location. Esege would Perceptive Copilot Focus. Arvel would do Arvel things and block ships (dropping the opponents defense). Esege would shoot first to drain the opponent of all its tokens using Hotshot Gunner, then the others will Juke-Attack and use Esege’s focus tokens as modifiers... Boom.

I’m not sure this would work so please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

I can't help but think that you are too reliant on dice variance

That being said, you VERY effectively get rid of their mods...so maybe it works

Yea, I know what you mean about Dice Variance.

I was hoping that with the Esege Focus being available for each shot that it might balance out. Not only for Attacking but also for defending. Focus Evades would keep them on the board longer.

I have heard that the odds of a Target Lock Attack is basically the same as a Focus Attack... not sure how accurate that is though! :)

I will have to fly it a couple times to see if it has legs.

I like the idea for sure. You say Arvel drops their defense, but he doesn’t have intimidation? Not sure if you’re missing something there.

Oh, what I meant was that Arvel would block the other ships, taking away their chance to take actions.

I also struggled between intimidation and Juke on Arvel. My reasoning was that I knew I could get Juke to trigger on Every shot (even ones that I bump), but I could only get Intimidation to maybe trigger every other shot, if I was flying at my best.

Esege still only offers 2 focuses - they would have to be spent

Still, 2 focuses for any shot out of 4 ships isn’t terrible. In theory, he’s a great wingman for juke a-wings. Flying it well might prove to be more difficult, but.

Agreed.

I was also messing around with this adjustment:

K-wing
(3) Esege Tuketu - (67)
Perceptive Copilot (10)
Hotshot Gunner (7)

Arc-170
(4) Garven Dreis - (57)
Juke (4)
Jyn Erso (2)

A-wing
(3) Green Squadron Pilot - (38)
Juke (4)

A-wing
(3) Green Squadron Pilot - (38)
Juke (4)

Total: 200/200

I switched out Arvel with Garven and removed a lot of Esege's upgrades.

In this Squad, Garven would take Juke as an Action, Shoot first, Spend one of Esege's Focus, then give it right back to Esege to use for His and the other 2 A-Wing's shots.

It gets more milage out of the 2 focus tokens but it really cuts down on Esege's Fire Power and Tricks. Probably too much...

An ARC instead of an A-wing seems like an improvement. No munitions on a K-Wing does feel weird, but I think I prefer the second build. I’ve played Esege and Garven together (with Benthic) and had a fun time.

If your worried about passing around multiple focus, don't forget Kyle in the HWK as a viable option. The HWK is about one of my favorite rebel ships now due to being cheap ish and hardy enough and having a ridiculous amount of utility (Kyle with just Moldy Crow comes out to 50 on the nose, so you can run that or take extra upgrades if you have the points).

Kyle's ability to pass around focus tokens is huge and almost always triggers if you want it to (because you can pull a focus rotate and have three focuses and always have an arc on a friendly ship that needs it).

He might not totally fit the Juke theme but you can certainly just take him for fifty and put your ordnance back on A wings.

Best,
