How would you run this list?

By Gengis Jon, in Army Building

Anyone running Han & Luke competitively with success? I know, the conventional wisdom says don’t do it. These two together costs too many points and, maybe just as importantly, costs you an activation over running Han with Leia.

But maybe some of you are making it work. How are you doing it?

Thinking about running with this list for awhile, but open to suggestions/tweaks...

Too many upgrades, not enough units. Drop all the Z6s and whatever else you need to to max Corps. All Han needs is Duck and Cover or nothing, for instance.

I agree that there are too many upgrades but I disagree on the proposed remedy. KEep the z6’s but delete all the emergency Stims and hunters. This will leave you with 40pts for a naked corps unit. 10 activations with 3 z6 for covering fire while luke and Han do their thing and a scout team flanks.

I agree, giving up Z-6 doesn’t work.

Deleted hunter. And cut stims from everyone but the strike team. (In my experience so far, strike team is just too fragile without them.)

Also converted the AT-RT to a flamer and swapped the fleets for a Z-6 squad.

All that bought me enough points for a naked trooper squad, bringing the list 10 activations.

This list is actually starting seem viable.

Anyone having competitive success with something like this? The lack of impact is clearly its biggest weakness.

good thing is you literally just avoid the At-st and you will mop everything else up while holding objectives

Just ignore anything with armor or use Luke to kill it (if you really really have to). This has worked for me time and again.

Thanks Matt (and good to see you over here in Legion Land!)

What’s the thinking behind swapping out Change of Plan for Assault?

And I’d love to know your secret on running a single Sabo. Two seems to be the min for me, and even then I’m not exactly thrilled with them (except against bikes... they’re pretty great against bikes.)

So turn one is basically a dead turn for me so I play assualt to control based on my setup either both my special forces and a hero or both heroes and the sniper and so forth to make sure they activate at a great time.

The single saboteur is my flanker [or early objective rusher scout 2 is amazing] and I use the mine to control and disrupt my opponent into either making uncomfortable moves or change there plans slightly. The damaged if I get any out of it is pure iceing on the cake. Also their sharpshooter is pure gold.

It's all about maintaining action advantage.
