Adaptive ailerons

By sthej, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just double checking to make sure I understand correctly:

1) an AA move can be partially completed by running into another ship. Doing so does not make me lose my action or stop me from using my dial maneuver. (Official rulings page 1)

2) flying through or onto an obstacle with a would still make me roll for damage (asteroid/debris) or take stress (debris) (page 13 RR)

Thanks

Yes.

And for completion on 2, you also don't lose your action here either unless you remain stressed.

Yup. Ailerons into Debris, followed by a blue maneuver out, is a sneaky little trick that less experienced players don't always expect - Aside from the 12.5% chance of taking a crit, you're usually none the worse for wear on the way out. In a pinch, you can do it with an asteroid, too... but it's a bit more dangerous. ;)

just be careful to ensure your AA move actually clears the debris, otherwise you hit it again.
