that is a strong squadron! I personally like the fact that you equipped wedge with an R4 Astromech to get up in your opponents face and deal some damage. brilliant!

What about dropping the r4s on the BSEs and get a cheap crew for U like Hera?

Why make the U-wing a bigger target?

So flew this at a local event, really found Outmaneuver and Tactical Jammer too situational during most matches to make enough of an impact.

So I stripped the Jammer and swapped out Maneuver for Marksmanship. Might try crackshot. Added Proton Torps to Wedge. Was better than it was but still kind of wondering what other better tweaks I might be able to eek out.

right now the list is 3/2 and 1-0 with the changes.

I've used this U wing setup and it sort of works. You could put Chopper on board to do a coordinate when stopping. Or better yet, Hera, then the UW becomes a massive rotating turret for a few rounds. Not perfect but quite fun.

I was just messing with a UXXX squad myself trying to increase the threat from AP-5 to 3rd xwing in my list. Anyway it seems you've already made most of what I was going to suggest.

For tweaks- reevaluate intimidation and the escorts R4s.. if your finding you can consistently pull some key intimidates then maybe.. but even then I'm not sold on it honestly. Chopper seems a better investment since you can't afford adv sensors.

And heres some more radical ideas:

from there consider losing the R4s and marksman and upgrading Heff to cassian and both blues to reds (to keep the flexibility of same init only now at 3).

-OR- downgrading heff to generic and losing the R4s (and no chopper) for leia, which in my limited experience I've found really good with a UXX + support.

Anyway just some friendly ideas. I'm still very new to 2.0 and U-wings but I'm trying to jam games every day and the U is my latest obsession.

If anything I was considering dropping the Proton Torps for Sensors. The issue is they would negate Heffs ability except on turns where I am doing a turn around anyways.

The Intimidate isn’t being used a ton, though a key one here and there has helped. The bigger use is the threat it creates. Not only do they not want to be blocked they also don’t want that - defense dice which makes the blocks worse and helps dictate the flow of the battle.

Fair enough on intimidate. Hmm maybe I'll try that approach actually. I've now tried the U with and without sensors, w/wo baffle and with chopper, sometimes leia somewhere. I'd say sensors plus baffle is the preferred build in a points vacuum but chopper is functional as the budget alternative to all those (I stoled this idea here recently) My U's tend to burn up rather quickly regardless of my build though so maybe thats just my bad.

However Propedoes I think should stay. They are pretty busted right now- especially on wedge and particularly with coordinate + crack. Hes fantastic without obviously but with them he basically reads "delete the one small ship".

I tried a similar built that so far worked pretty well:

U-Wing - Partisan Renegade
Magva Yarro

T65 Xwing - Cavern Angel Zealot

T65 Xwing - Thane Kyrell
Elusive

T65 Xwing - Wedge Antilles
Swarm Tactics
R3 Astromech

I tried a different version where i swapped R3 on Wedge for a Tactical officer on the U-Wing, thus giving a 199pts squad instead of 200 and giving me a chance to decide on the initiative. Bboth can work well, it just depends on how you play and how the game goes.

But i've only tried this in casual matches sor far, can't wait to try it in a tournament!
