Draft play with all the expansions

By Sleby, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Do you guys find that draft play becomes more and more difficult with every expansion that is released? I only have the first one so far but I was thinking about it and I can imagine it would dilute the deck you could ultimately build.

You would have several hundred cards in the Alliance and Destruction decks so for one thing shuffling would become a nightmare. You also only get to add 10 (or 15?) neutral cards to each deck and with every expansion you get quite a few neutral cards so it just seems like you would be missing out on alot?

What have your experiences been with playing draft mode with all the expansions that have been released so far? Do you have any useful house rules that you use?

Cheers

The rules state you can't have more than one hundred cards in your deck, so you would have to stop when you reach that. Otherwise, you could simply allow each player to stop drafting any time after they reach the legal minimum (50). That should solve your problems.

Sorry, when I said Deck I didn't mean the deck you'd actually play with. I meant the entire deck of Alliance or Destruction cards you're drafting from. Those piles must get enormous.

Indeed. The most effective way to run it is to allow a choice of only one battle pack and shuffle the whole thing in, including neutrals, to the CS stack, including neutrals, to maintain a semblance of balance between racial and neutral cards. That's what we've done and it works fantastically. Also keeps the drafts fresh by rotating in different expansions each time, y'know?
