Since FFG won't give us new ships, kit contents, or articles to talk about, you'd think the least they could do is let us carry on in one of the few threads seeing any activity rather than locking it down.
Oh wise Forum Necromancers, I look forward to the next dusty gem you find and dust off... give us something to do while we wait for content from FFG.
Eagerly Awaiting Next Necro'ed Gem of a Thread
Haha, I am not inclined to do that after the last one was locked lol
Lets not give folks ideas...
Eh... I was about to necro a bunch of the "this many months/days since news" threads, but honestly I'm starting to feel it's not worth it.
Say what you will about the game health, the lack of news and future releases has curbed some zeal for the game for me.... The appeal seems to have begun to falter for local members as well, they are making trips out on different days for Xwing or Legion but armada is kinda a hard sell it seems.
FFG dropped the ball. Armada lives, but it's certainly feeling abandoned...

It hasn't been 303 days, when was the SSD announcement? GenCon right? That was like August right?

It's an old gif, but technically speaking the SSD isn't a wave, at least they haven't announced it as such yet....
At least the Rebels get zilch

Score one for Imperial superiority.

We don't need new ships to beat outdated Imperial technology into submission.

Likewise, locally. At my FLGS in the past we used to host Kit Tournaments, Store Championships, and even a few sessions of the Corellian Conflict. Sadly, I think the store is going on nearly 8+ months without a game of Armada being played on its tables... and those last few games were because I was doing my best to maintain interest and running another CC. Sadly, that CC fizzled out about three weeks in when a couple players asked to drop.
I'm pretty sure when the SSD drops that our FLGS Owner will be wary of ordering any for the product shelf, and at this point I doubt it will bring any games back to the store even when it does launch (at least three of our locals have sold their collections as lots already, and we didn't have a ton of folks to start with...).
Lol I realize now that I spoke poorly, I ment the comment to be more sympathetic to the rebel players haha

We have a weekly group. Armada still get's played, but a few long time members are losing interest or can't justify coming out for Armada when they can only make one trip that weekend and other games are offered. All around I can't help but feel many communities are seeing Armada spool down. The quality of the game keep it alive, but interest is way down it seems.
Almost as strong as ever.
It’s not easy, keeping a crowd enthused.
But ive worked hard and constantly at it. At least 12 SSD pre orders were logged, not including my broke-*** self, at one store in the area alone.
The fact that if we get a Jan or first week of Feb release, means it’s legal at our Regionals... well, that’s just icing.

if they sold their stuff, someone else bought it what means someone else is playing. Even if she already play at least it means she may play several games at once, ?

Man I wish I could say the same.
Seriously, I am seriously considering buying two SSD.

Haha, I already cancelled my pre-order. Screw ffg.

Until they call it a wave, then it is true technically.

There may be a correlation between these two things. ?
It's not your job to invest a huge amount of uncompensated personal time and effort into something FFG should be doing for their own product line. I used to be willing to invest a few hours once a month to organize and run tourney kits or CCs, but with the local community on life support and FFG clearly not caring much about supporting the Armada community, I figured my time was best spent on other pursuits.

No, a divorce, being forced to leave my home on short notice, look after a special needs boy 12 hours a day, and re-enter thevworkforce after a 5 year gap to work a minimum wage graveyard shift has done that, leaving me 3 hours a day to sleep.
You're allowed to give up.
Especially if you have time for other pursuits.
But if you’re not willing to fight for what you enjoy - truly enjoy - then you ultimately don’t end up with it.
I get one weekend a fortnight to myself.
”Myself” in this case, is Armada.
I enjoy playing it, I enjoy seeing it played... is facilitating a gaming group ultimately selfish because it gets me there? Maybe.
Without it, I know, my life, and the lives of others, would be a little less enjoyable...
... perhaps because I have nothing else.
i don’t expect anyone else to be as dedicated as me. That’s unrealistic.
But I do believe if you truly enjoy something, you’ll fight for it.
As I fight for my Son.

At the same time though, people who fight, often die tired.
I'm more than happy to run kits, regionals, CC events, whatever I can, but if FFG isn't releasing season kits on time, or announcing what's in those kits to draw attention, or pushing new product in regular releases, then there's a limit to what I can do to keep fighting.
Honestly, I feel like this is the battle of serenity valley....
Command isn't coming. There's no (game)air support. We're to lay down arms(Armada). And the firebombing is just all the other stuff FFG is releasing competing for Armada's player base, fabrication time, customer support, and marketing resources...
I can hold the line all gorram day, but if support ain't coming, we're just gonna lose more people.

There’s no concept of living surrender here, though.
You’ve equated leaving to dying.
Walking away - surrender- leaves those behind to die, in your metaphor.

Well, I think that's because I don't think Mal every really surrendered. He laid down arms but deep down he believes in his independence still.
Similarly, those of us who keep fighting to support Armada will eventually either drop out for something else (die) or keep playing with no support as best we can and may end up with very small groups barely existing at all (Losing the war to break the laws of the new society? and smuggle cows?)
Idk, it's not a perfect metaphor lol, but I definitely feel like FFG has abandoned us and bombarded us with other products to try to get people to drop Armada and pick up other stuff, even if it's only temporary -which at this point it's even beginning to feel like it isn't-
Is Armada gonna ever have more than a single release a year again? Can we recover? The next release is $200 I already know of 3 people in my local group that either can't afford it or justify it... With no news of wave 8 so far, and the next product release in Armada scheduled for 1st Q 2019, are we looking at a 2020 wave 8 release?
I'm buying 2 of the SSD, I'm gonna run every kit my LGS can get, host regionals (hopefully), but ultimately, Me and the perpetuation of the game are at the mercy of FFG.
