The Big Prequel-Ship Stats Argument Thread

So if they were to release a core set for the New Republic/Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) which two small fighters do we believe would be in the core set?

One Delta-7 and two Droid tri-fighter??

By the way what type of stats we think the thing will get?

Since they didn't release TIE Interceptors with the 2.0 Core, I doubt the Tri will be in the hypothetical CW Core... Most likely Vultures.

We're probably gonna' see two Vultures, but the Republic fighter, I really can't be sure. If ARC-170s weren't already out, I'd guess them. Honestly, it still could be them.

ARC medium base is probably too big for a core set.

I’d guess 2x vultures and a Delta-7 or Eta-2.

I’m also going to guess that it’s not a full core set, more of a “era starter pack”. Why? Because I don’t think there are enough giant fans of the prequels to warrant a full core set.

Please no. Honestly A Clone Z-95 or two over either force user ship would be preferable in the hypothetical CW Core if paired with Vultures. Though IF they do release a CW Core I can see them doing the Delta-7 to push their force mechanic. I just hope it will be a balanced matchup...

I think they'd want a recognizable "hero" ship from the movies. Which pretty much means N-1, Delta-7, or Eta-2.

We know from the Star Wars Show that we will be getting the below miniature, which is Anakin's Delta 7, so I think it is fairly safe to say that the CW/PT era core set or faction starter for the Republic would get this version of the Delta 7, that would make sense considering that Luke already came in the 2.0 Core Set with his color scheme.

Luke is 1 expensive pilot with force abilities, Delta-7s and ETA-2s will likely not have non-force sensitive generics... A bit of a difference.

Yea, but I'm talking about the miniature. The 2.0 core gave a unique paint scheme to the X-Wing there, and it would make sense if they are doing another core set they would throw a unique paint scheme there too to try and incentivize people to buy it and the expansion pack that will likely be the red version we see in ATOC. If not it would be weird to sell Anakin's version when the more well known version is the film's red one, and the one that was more generally used until Clone Wars started to give the Jedi unique schemes.

You have concerns about what has been teased not fitting the lore, I am concerned that if they decide to release a CW Core set that has the lore fitting Jedi fighter there will be pretty big balance issues. Neither concern is invalid.

Partially but at the same point it is sales too, I know for one that if they just release the Jedi Starfighter in Anakin's colors I'll most likely only buy the one unless I really feel up to attempting to try and paint it like the generic. If they do the Core Set and have the expansion with the red version then I'll buy the core and a good two or so expansions, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one feel that way. But regardless we will find out how FFG is planning to do stuff this month when they give us information on Clone Wars stuff.

Hopefully they give allot of info instead of just little teasers spaced out over several weeks/months forcing us to try and read between the lines.

With the timing of the announcement I sort of suspect it will be Wave 3's announcement and that we will get about as much information as we did during the Wave 1 and Wave 2 announcement articles. So probably not tons but we will know what ships make up their factions initial releases, one to two pilot abilities, some quick build info, their dials, and faction specific Talents.

If I had to guess the Republic will get the Delta 7, Republic fighter likely a toss up between Z-95, V-19, or ARC-170 and their maneuver dial cover, while the CIS will get Vulture droids based off the promo art, the Sith Infiltrator since we've seen that mini and their maneuver dial cover and both getting a core set. So what a good three articles then? One to cover the core, which might talk briefly about what to expect for the factions if that isn't covered in the other articles, one to cover Republic releases, and another cover CIS releases. If we are really lucky they might release 3 ships for each of the two new factions which would sort of bring them more up to level with 2.0 releases since the Rebels and Imperials have 3 ships each, Resistance and FO have 4 with their releases and conversion kits, and Scum has 4 or 5 depending on how you want to count the escape craft.

Since it is the only dedicated coordinate ship Scum has, it counts. Sucks that to get access to the non-neutered version of the ability you either have to shell out for the entire Scum Falcon or trade for it... :(

If they do release a Clone Wars Core set It is probably going to be 1 republic and 2 Vulture Droids. Now the Republic it is up for debate. It could be the Naboo N1 as that is the classic match up from episode 1. OR it could be the ARC-170 as they already have that model out. then again core sets tend to have new models not old one So I will say the N1 is the most likely ship. But they have to make a Clone War Core set. I still expect maybe some sort of conversion kit for ships like the ARC-170 and Firespray.

" In Star Wars: Battlefront II , the laser cannon is replaced with a chaingun and is depicted as requiring a pilot to operate. The latter is most likely for gameplay reasons. "

Gunner slot, baby!

In the interest of my "Republic dice mods, Sepratists raw dice" theory, I speculate that the Tri-fighter will be 3/3/3/2 with a Cannon slot (HLC/ion/"chaingun"), Gunner, and missile slots.

The "named" models will not be unique, but will be limited to 2-3 per list.

given how much smaller the Delta-7 and Vulture droids are compared to an X-wing and TIE's, hopefully either the clone wars starter will be cheaper.. or maybe will have more than 3 figures.

I'm really not expecting that we'll get a prequel core, or faction pack, or conversion kit of any sort.

I think we'll get a big wave of prequel ships and you'll buy the number of each ship as you desire.

And no matter how small Vultures are or aren't, they'll still be one per pack. Likewise for Delta-7 and Eta-2 Actis which are also fairly small.

Basically, all your hopes and dreams will be crushed.

I'll be pleasantly surprised at any multi-model pack coming in the prequel wave, because I don't expect them to happen.
