How are you handling the new Systems Phase?

In V1, high init pilots were aventaged since they would drop bomb after the other ships had moved.

In V2, bombs are really useful to reduce the number of manœuvres of the opponent. He will try to avoid them, so you know were he will not be and can have a better guess at were he will be.

That makes sense, almost frustrating for a higher init ship to be killed by a bomb of a lower init ship. thanks

System phase is fine, I rarely forget it.

What I will forget though is to flip my Flappy Wings before revealing the dial.

Me too, I constantly forget about servomotors till its the engagement phase sometimes.
Range one gooooood 4 attack d.. ups! 3 attack only servos are still closed!

I typically slam down my barbie doll with Darth Vader helmet and announce clearly "SYSTEMS PHASE INITIATE".

I say SYSTEM PHASE every time it has to happens, even if nothing happens. To not forget it. As doing a focus action on first turn while doing a 1 straight maneuver to do not forget to do an action.

Too much Fly Casual sim for me. Put my new AdvS Redline, Supernatural GI and WhisperVader list on the table last night and realised just how frigging much thinking and checking I have to do from end phase to flipping dials. Picking manoeuvres is the easy (not easy) bit.

Print off a small list with each phase on it, and read each one out as you move on. Even if you have no system phase elements in your list (or the opponents) simply reading it out every turn helps remind you it exists.

yep because you might not need it that game, but odds are there will be a time you need to remember, so get used to acknowledging it now.
