Our FLGS just got confirmation that we will be hosting an Armada Regional again this year.

Out of curiosity, it that more, less, or about the same for the UK? With Legion and X-Wing tournament structure getting more Regionals than the old model, I'm curious if Armada is getting the same treatment.

My understanding of the X-Wing/Legion model is that it's not just more events, but moreover that any store in good standing with sufficient capacity can run one without a quota or cap?

Anyways, looks like the same number last year: https://www.asmodee.co.uk/news-item/fantasy-flight-games-star-wars-regionals-locations/

Is there an official list of places HOSTING regionals printed yet? Cause as of now no stores I know of have been given regionals in my local area.

Nope.

Last year, we didn't get the official list until December...

That's what I thought. That's a shame though, hopefully it releases before the actual season starts.

At least we're writing them down as we see them

Does anyone know how 'Regionals' (if that's what they're called there) are done in Scandinavia?

I'm about to move there, and my Armada stuff is working its way through customs in Stockholm as we speak.

Holy crap Mikael, I didn't realize you had moved! And so far! Who else am I supposed to turn to to assert Imperial domanace in Portland?

I've not moved just yet. I have a week and a half to go.

But to answer your question: I'm really not sure. @Naboobo2000 still plays a good Imperial game, afaik, though he's been a rare bird at tournaments due to his work schedule.

Didn't he just recently say that he's in Andalucia? What would really be the other (warmer) end of Europe.

Before you get too jealous, know that I'm moving there in November, and there doesn't seem to be much of an FFG scene where I'm going. Plenty of GW, but there's just no way that I'm going to let myself get dragged into that again.

Nope, Spain. South Europe, as Mikael said the other end.

@Mikael Hasselstein I'm checking. Nothing has been announced thus far.

The NOVA Regional will be at Huzzah Hobbies on February 16th. Attendence is capped at 32, so make sure you contact Huzzah to reserve a spot.

Wow, if you don't mind me asking what is taking you to up there?

I don't mind at all, but it's a number of factors. So, it may be more information than you asked for.

The triggering factor is an amicable separation from my wife who has a wonderful job here in Portland.

The push-factor is that I have two jobs that I generally enjoy - individually - but I don't get paid much nor do I receive very good benefits (ie. adequate health care or retirement). Also, in combination, I'm exhausted and have little free time. The frustration literally caused me to grind my teeth until they cracked. (That would be the literal meaning of the word 'literal', rather than the opposite meaning of the word literal, the way that some people use it. I now have one molar less, and two have been crowned.)

The first pull factor is that a friend is offering me asylum in Sweden, and since I hold an EU citizenship (Netherlands), I have the right to live and work there. As one of my jobs is mobile (I teach online), I can continue to do that while I find more adequate work. Also, even if I pay out of pocket for health insurance, I'm out about $70/mo, which would be the second pull factor. A third pull factor is that Sweden is currently experiencing a lot of refugee settlement issues. Since that relates to a topic that I teach, it's a great opportunity for me to do some on-the-ground research, and perhaps something in which I can find some meaningful work.

Finally, I'm just due for a change of pace. It's been a while since I threw my life around.

My mistake, for some reason I thought you were up north.
