New competitive Legion podcast - Notorious Scoundrels

By Orkimedes, in Star Wars: Legion

An unholy alliance of bloggers brings you a brand new podcast about competitive Legion play: Notorious Scoundrels.

Dashz and Orkimedes from Never Tell Me the Odds join Endless from Yavinbase to talk about Star Wars: Legion competitive play and improving your game.

This week, the Scoundrels talk about a healthy competitive attitude, the Michigan Grand Tournament, and the TTS Invader League.

Not coming up in my podcast app search, which I think hits all the major pod servers. Sometimes it takes a few days. Ill try agaim later.

Yeah, might be a day or two before it is on iTunes.

Great job! I loved the discussion. My only complaint is that the sound quality was a bit annoying at times (not a big thing, but it was there)

In response to your question, what should you discuss. Due to recent events involving wookies... I would appreciate a discussion about how to combat melee units (wookies, IRG, even Luke or Vader)

Thanks guys! Awesome podcast :)

I loved the show.

I'm going to my first Con at LVO. I enjoyed the content and it gave me a lot to think of. Keep up!

Topic: 1st time big tourney player, what they should knew.

Yeah, we are definitely working on sound quality for next time. Glad the content was good!

For ruining Veers and Vader together, call them the Venture Brothers.

Name idea for veers/boba: General Vett?

Boveers in arms?

RE: Michigan GT -- I think the terrain on most boards was just about right (and I played at NOVA Day 1 where the terrain was way too sparse). There were a couple of boards with maybe slightly too much small scatter, and one or two boards that could have used and additional tall line of sight blocking piece or two, but most boards were perfect and the combination of them, if you rotated, was a good challenge to your list.

I played on Steve Harvey's board with the multiple-level building in the center which was really great -- having multiple heights was really fun (and gave some reasons to zip Boba w/ jetpacks around the board). The Endor and Tatooine boards looked really good, and the Imperial Terrain at table #1 was absolutely beautiful.

Edit: On painting and the "three-color requirement"... this is my first "hobby" miniatures game having come from X-wing, and I want to paint my minis before putting them on the table, but I don't think there should be a requirement. If you want to get new people and grow the hobby, you need to encourage people to play who don't paint, but might pick it up over time. One of my GT opponents had a list that was sprayed with three color camo, not detail painted, and another opponent had a number of models still in primer -- and I have no complaints about either, nor did I see anyone making an issue of it.
