TO, small store.

By tsuruki, in KeyForge

Hey guys, given my workplace and interest in this game, I will probably be the initial TO for it locally.

We're talking isolated game store (too small for an official FFG venue tournament) so opening night for Keysforge will probably just be a fairly standard "random decks" format tournament.

For holding tournaments, what should I be keeing in mind? Can I read up on this anywhere?

-Whats the name of the formats?

-How long ought tournament games be?

With the above in hand I think i'll have all that I need to run a release tournament.

Does the TO contact FFG about making it an official release tournament or does the store?

The news on the main page is a good place to start as it has the main formats. As you get going you'll find that players will tell you what they liked and didn't so you can fine tune.

I think you could just play for 45 minutes or until done.

Consider getting the store to contact FFG, but there is no official OP, not in the "Magic" sense. But if things work out they should consider a prize kit now and again. I wasn't aware of a size issue for FFG.

Something to think about is the stores needs, if you come in every week and play decks you own they aren't getting much for making the tables available. So some sealed play is going to help or entry fee that may come back to the players as store credit.

Formats are still being worked out as part of the preview events, we should hear some more details soon hopefully.
