2.0 TIE Defender and Advanced Sensors

By Sciencius, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I am sorry if this has been asked.

The new (very expensive) 2.0 TIE Defender have access to the systems slot and thereby Advanced Sensors, which helps open up the dial, as it is now possible to boost with the 1-bank before performing your white 4-k, which is nice, or to take a focus action before moving. However the high price of the TIE Defender comes from its "Full Throttle" which allows you to perform an evade action after performing a 3-5 speed manouver, however Advanced Sensors prohibits this right?

You are correct. If you use Advanced Sensors, you won't be able to then use Full Throttle.

The idea is that you either shouldn't need the evade because your roll or boost into k-turn has arc dodged most everything, or you weren't getting the evade anyway because you were going to bump something.

Note that it's gained the evade action on its bar so if you need it for juke or rexler purposes you can get it with AS.

Advanced sensors definitely opens up some movement possibilities for you, since you can get your boost/barrel roll before your movement. But, as everyone has stated, it does disable the bonus from full throttle. Still not necessarily a bad thing, since being out of arc is generally better than having an evade. Though, I'd personally not pair it with juke.

Do this with Daredevil and Ryad...

Yeah it hurts offense a bit since the only real offense Defenders have access to thats worth it is Juke but shes pretty much impossible to track down....
