The No Glory game variant caught my eye back when the official squad builder came out. No Glory is a no limited pilot, no limited crew and no titles version of Extended. A basic grunt fight if you will. Unfortunately the variant locks Scum out of the Aggressor (Scum's cannon armed heavy fighter) and their best cordinate ship (technically only not counting Squad Leader equipped pilots), the Escape Craft. I'm not touching the coordinate part of that mess but I have stumbled on a Canon droid that would work for the Aggressor. The IG-86. I'm thinking that an IG-86 Aggressor at Init 2 or 3 without a Talent slot would enable the cannon armed heavy fighter role to be available as a generic pilot without imbalancing the No Glory variant or Extended format. Thoughts?
An idea for a No Glory compatible Scum Aggressor
The format sounds interesting.
First regarding the escape craft - I think the outer rim guy is limited so that you can't spam the ship. Which I think is a good decision.
I think the talent slot is not the main thing to balance this guy, but the pilot ability, since it is shared among all IGs. So my feeling would be to find him a nice flavor text instead of a pilot ability.
The pricing of this IG-86 is tricky. A few ini points is worth maybe 2-3 points of discount. Another for removal of talent if you like. Then you are at the magic threshold of 66 points which means you can fly three of them in a list. They will feel different though since they don't share the network of pilot abilities. Getting them close to or below the 60 point mark, which would be needed for three with cannon each, is dangerous due to implications on other formats

Ya, they shouldn't have pilot abilities, unlike the Pioneer. Clarify what would be so dangerous about being able to run three with cannons?
I think running three with cannons is no problem. Running two ig-88 and one ig-86 all with titles may be a problem

You can do that to an extent already. 4-LOM + 88D...
Ever compared the dials?

Yep.

Well i think it would make kind of a difference if I had a mist hunter or another aggressor as the third ship.

The G1-A dial for 4-LOM is allot more powerful than you give it credit for. Every red is a free token, he can toss the stress on an enemy easily enough. Really the only thing that it can't do dial wise that the Aggressor can is S-loop.

Fair point if you can keep range 1

Not too hard with the G1-A's dial against allot of targets, getting there in the first place is the trick though plenty of opponents need to be range 1 to best enable their talents. Especially when it comes to bullseye arc talents.
