When the jump happens

By KarmanMonkey, in Battlestar Galactica

The other night we were playing, and as the result of a skill check, the jump prep track advanced to the end (i.e. immediately jump)

The question is, does the jump happen immediately (i.e. as soon as the skill check passes) or after the resolution of the rest of the card?

It makes a big difference, as raiders would've taken out two civ ships, and possibly more. Also, since the crisis card also had the normal marker for advancing the jump prep track, it's the difference between jumping and jumping and immediately advancing.

We may have just overlooked the part in the rules that cover this, but we couldn't find it.

Your help on this is appreciated!

If it was the result of a passed skill check then it jumps immediately. Then the Raiders activate (=nothing happens) and then you move one on the jump prep. You were lucky.
