Why I got bored with Dragon, or what’s in a name…

Sometimes get that feeling too. I'm still collecting, bit of Jigoku, bit of solo vs play, but I'm afraid Dragon will be nerfed because crowd think it's easy mode (blame legendary Dragon Aneil...)

Thank god I have another beloved Clan I can play too: Lion... Hmm wait... Oh s*it!

Come on... Dragon is one of the easiest clans to play because you have less mistake you can make. You don't have to choose on who to put attachments, because it's nearly always on Niten Master. You don't have to choose which attachment, because it's the Pathfinder Blade that matters. And you don't have to be afraid of the province you're attacking thanks to PFB.

Yes, it's easier to play than a lot of other clans, if not all of them.

Try to win with ponies against Dragon, Scorpion or Cranes and then come back to report how it feels.

I know you weren't replying directly to me, but.... this. So much this. I know you sorta exaggerate to make a point (or I hope you do), but still that remains exactly why I have never played with Niten Master and never splashed for Pathfinder's Blade.

I hate single-trick decks, I hate decks that everyone plays (I love the Restricted List for breaking them), and also I hate Crab, why would I splash them? To win? In my view, this game has way too much theme and narrative to focus only on the ends, and thus disregarding the means.

So yeah, I'm not a competitive player. 😉 I want to play what I want and what I find fun regardless of the imperfection of the the whole, regardless of my win rate (which stands at 30%, but I am getting better against everyone except Crane and Crab) and especially regardless of what other people play (or say).

Added: I guess this non-conformist attitude makes me a Dragon at heart? :D

You could read what we're writing and realize you're just saying WHY we don't want to play Dragon. Looking to play Kung Fu combo monks or something along those lines and getting "Just throw the best costed characters in, along with Niten Master, hope you pull him and your weapon attachments at the same time, have fun!" isn't our idea of a good time.

If you don't be afraid of provinces because you have PFB, Play attachments always on Niten Master, you are playing Dragon wrong and probably will get beaten by good players.

I have won with Uni against Dragon, Scorpion and Cranes and the only MU that seems skewed against Unicorn is Scorpion. The Dragon/Crab SOF MU against Uni/Dragon KOF is a coinflip, because while Unicorn struggles against Niten Master, Dragon has problems against Cav. Reserves and Unleash the Djinn. The Crane MU seems also very even because a lot of things you are doing is attachment based and Crane can easily run out of steam when confronted by 2 mil conflicts a turn. The Scorpion MU on the other hand is pretty horrible and the reason why I like playing Dragon atm.

Wow, so not only Dragon is easy, but them mystical powers ensure also consistant draw of PFB and flop of Niten Master early every game! :)

Even if you haven't them in the deck?

Tbh, my mvp isn't the obvious Niten Master, it's Raitsugu. And PFB is strong but Charge or Fury are more fun to play.

My "meta" is kinda small, being my wife and me mainly, with an outing at flgs once a month and my HMT unicorn/lion outpaced often my Dragon/crab.

Fielding PFB and NM and hoping they would be your main key to success is actually a recipe for failure, as you don't learn how to exploit other good Dragon resources, and limit your deckbuild option to seeker.

I'm having my fun now with SOTP monk/shugenja, gotta love that sealed Raitsugu with a Katana of fire.

Yes it is blatant exaggeration to make a point.

But I do think Dragon is the most forgiving of the clans as you can make a few mistakes and still end on top. Scorpion is in the same range but you don't have the same luxury in most of the other clans.

I think it is the complete oposite. Íf you are playing Dragon you get punished extremly hard for making slightly wrong choices when attacking and defending due to having a small board. This is even worse in paper, because the current Dragon strategy is sacrificing early game advantages for a dominating mid- to lategame, which results in a pretty bad tie-breaker. This is also why Dragon performs pretty poorly at tournaments despite being one of the best clans.
