Now that is a very interesting list, and as I'm not really sure what to take for a tournament tomorrow this may have to happen

I'd love to hear how it performs if you do - I can't run it whether it's for a tournament or not, as I only have one YV.

Also, I was mixing up how 1.0 and 2.0 Evade work. For 2.0 Evade, at least one damage needs to hit, so you might want to consider bulking Laetin up with a Hull or Shield buff instead of 4 - 5 evade dice. I don't remember the exact point costs, but I know at least one will fit.

Ok so going into tomorrow's tournament I've had a bit of last moment inspiration thanks to @feltipern1

So first off I'm bringing @feltipern1 's list with a few comedy jamming beams added (I know I'll never use them)

Double YV redux v2d

(64) Bossk [YV-666 Light Freighter]
(0) Jamming Beam
(5) 0-0-0
(12) Maul
(2) BT-1
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
(1) Marksmanship
Points: 87

(54) Trandoshan Slaver [YV-666 Light Freighter]
(0) Jamming Beam
(6) Jabba the Hutt
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
Points: 63

(33) Laetin A'shera [M3-A Interceptor]
(0) Jamming Beam
(8) Shield Upgrade
(8) Squad Leader
Points: 49

Total points: 199

Now this list inspired me to tweak it a little bit into this;

Double YV redux v2e

(64) Bossk [YV-666 Light Freighter]
(0) Jamming Beam
(5) 0-0-0
(12) Maul
(2) BT-1
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
(1) Marksmanship
Points: 87

(54) Trandoshan Slaver [YV-666 Light Freighter]
(0) Jamming Beam
(6) Jabba the Hutt
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
Points: 63

(33) Hired Gun [BTL-A4 Y-wing]
(2) R4 Astromech
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
(3) Hull Upgrade
(6) Squad Leader
(3) Dorsal Turret
Points: 50

Total points: 200

Now the logic here it to make the coordinator as irritating to kill whilst still being able to get the coordinate off as often as possible. So a high hit point ship with 7 blue maneuvers seemed worth a try. Adding a turret and cybernetics to the mix are just an attempt to add a bit more flexibility to the ship

I'll let you know which list I pick in the morning, and I'll at least try and update at lunchtime and post event

Ok so very quick update

Took the Y-wing variant, currently 0-2 after facing Lando, wedge, Dutch and a 5x tie fo swarm (the same one from Wednesday)

Both games were close (129-200, and 133-200). First game I made a mess of flying Bossk, missing loads of triggers on Maul and 0-0-0

UPDATE....

Round 3 just done, played against The Mux, Seevor, Khiraxz tournament list. Took Seevor out in the first pass, but it meant he got Bossk in the second. Unlucky double direct hit on the Y-wing left me with a 87-200 loss. 0-3 so far...

Ok round 4 has now finished....

And I'm 1-3 for the day!

The last game was Vs a variant rebel beef (PS2 u-wing with Hera and Lando, Braylen, Tenn, and Jek) and was an absolute nail-bighter. Finished 200-119 but could so easily have swung to my opponent on several occasions. I really need to get better at remembering triggers, I forgot TL's, 0-0-0, and Maul on a number of occasions

Finished 13 out of 16 on the day, so quite happy with that all thing's considered

These lists are very interesting. I would feel like playing this in extended:

Latts Razzi (59)
0-0-0 (5)
Unkar Plutt (2)

Bossk (64)
BT-1 (2)

Fenn Rau (68)
Total: 200

or this in hyperspace (when the YV-666 willl be legal):

Trandoshan Slaver (54)
Lando Calrissian (Scum) (8)

Latts Razzi (59)
Jabba the Hutt (6)
Contraband Cybernetics (3)

Fenn Rau (68)
Total: 198

Too bad you didn't do better - but recognizing where you missed triggers is good.

Practice practice practice.... 😩

There were some hard games there today, the FO list was surprisingly nimble and he flew it well. I went against that Mux list last week as well and came a cropper, hes a good opponemt. Was nice to meet you there!

I still really like the look of the list. Missed triggers are a thing I sometimes struggle with flying Scum, they can often be critical, which I kind of take as a positive sign for easy improvement :D

Absolutely, even though I've been playing the YV since it came out in 1.0 there is still no such thing as too much practice :)

looking back on the day here are a few things (in no particular order);

  • the game I won was the one where I got the most aggressive with the Y-wing and used it's coordinate the least (although two of the other games could have easily swung my way, a 1 hull Wedge managing to survive a double-modded range 1 from the Slaver in the first game comes to mind). This is making me think I need to treat the Slaver as the list support ship and to try and get the third ship to be more of a hitter.
  • Jabba was worth his weight in gold - all his charges were used in 3 of the games, and in the other game he only had 2 left
  • people are genuinely scared of Bossk, every single opponent made him the priority target, even if that put their list in an awkward position afterwards (this is how I managed to mug Seevor in the first engagement of game 3)
  • linked to the previous statement, all of my opponents admitted that they really weren't sure how to approach engaging the YV's. This seemed mostly to be down to the 180 arc and high hit-point pool, but could equally have just been the unfamiliarity with the chassis.
  • The final point for now is this, all of the people I played today were great to play against. Regardless of who won the match, both players had fun.

Yeh, it's always great to put a face to a forum handle, especially completely accidentally :)

there were a lot of really good lists on display today, the 6 mining guild TIEs all with Snap Shot also seemed to be causing people issues

Seems very dicey but I was so glad I didn't face that....

One of the guys I car shared with did. Did not enjoy :D

As I was car-sharing with the person who ran it, I'll pass that along

He did comment that it made for short games one way or another :)

Make sure you also pass along how much the other 2 of us enjoyed his description of the game, definitely a good sign :D

I felt the same confusion in the OP I won. Of course my double YVs were a flying screen for Fenn with control punishment. But still... so much hull and you can’t flank them easy.

They just take up sooooo much board space. I’d love to swap some turn 0 stuff with you sometime but I don’t know how to do Vassal GIFs. 😜 😜

Since I don't actually have 2 YV, I went on a tangent. Might try this.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

(56) Old Teroch [Fang Fighter]
(3) Fearless
Points: 59

(62) Sabine Wren [Lancer-class Pursuit Craft]
(2) 4-LOM
(8) Static Discharge Vanes
(3) Shadow Caster
Points: 75

(59) Latts Razzi [YV-666 Light Freighter]
(2) Unkar Plutt
(5) 0-0-0
Points: 66

Total points: 200
