X-Wing Trench run?

By player3137305, in X-Wing

Hi there folks!

Question for the casual players. Is there a mod or scenario made for X-Wing where you fly the Death Star trench?

I found the Death Star Singapore trench run but its a bit underwhelming. You don't get to navigate the trench, it's just hopping from fixed spot to fixed spot. I'm looking for something where you actually navigate the trench, dodge turrets and get chased by Darth Vader.

Is this available somewhere? I tried BoardGameGeek with no luck.

Cheers

There is a massive trench run scenario let me see if i can find it somewhere

There's several.

The most famous of which is this:

My own HOTAC version for co-op play (still 1.0 rules)

There is an already built fan-made trench run in eBay. Came across it last night while looking for 1e deals ?

Looks quite nice. Search for "x-wing miniatures death star" and you'll find it.

For a straight cinematic trench, it's pretty cheap just to build one. Materials, minus the printed picture surface and clear acrylic sheets to overfly the trench, is probably $30 Cdn. It can be done cheaper, I just bought shortcuts like pre-cut lengths of wood.

Dagobah Dave has revised his in the thread that I started. We got him to get involved and revamped a few things. I like using Energy on the turrets as it makes things a bit more involved than just the trench.

That mission is great, though! I highly recommend it. There is even some graphics in that thread and getting them from bannersonthecheap.com with free shipping for $20. PM me if you have any questions. I've run it a number of times.

Thanks for the responses! Dagobah Dave's mod does look interesting!

I guess if you have the time and inclination everything is possible. For a guy like me, it's a bit daunting to consider spending 20+ hours planing the project, buying materials, building stuff...

This trench is rather slick and appears both practical and well built!

I used the scenario here https://dondueck.com/2015/01/02/x-wing-miniatures-death-star-assault/

I got lucky and was given the trench board and 4 turbolasers for the boardgamegeek secret santa. It looks amazing, and has been fun to play on. The special touches are nice, like the clear acrylic that allows ships to fly right over the trench, even when you have ships in the trench right under them.

It is very good. I've played it quite a few times and run a number of games at GenCon. Dagobah Dave has been involved and has revised his rules based on comments and input. There is even an effort now to redo the rules, but I'm a bit hesitant. I kind of want to try running it as is with 2.0 rules to see how it goes.

That high quality PDF is really good and only $20 to have printed. Paper turrets are easy to print and make.

Thanks for the input guys!
