Well don't feel too put out. The Maritimes are hard hit by poor support and non existent stock as well. We are slowly growing our community out here despite all that however!
Is it time to consider production in the Americas?
Why is it a ship like the Arquitens has been out of stock the longest but yet it is still awaiting reprint. Yet there has been some armada stuff that has been reprinted ahead of it. They definitely need bigger production capacity.

Because all the Arquitens are going to the secret Clone Wars core set?

When/if that happens I want General Grievous to be able to escape to a squadron everytime his flagship is about to blow up.

His special ability will be that your opponent can never get a full 400 points for destroying your fleet, because he always survives. Somehow.
To the point of the thread, though, no - it is not time to move production to the United States or Canada. Mexico, maybe?
Right now manufacturing wages are finally starting to show slight evidence of barely creeping up again after a decade of flatline, and even that is being eaten away by inflation. There are still countries out there where cheap production can be shifted towards if China becomes too problematic.
I do realize that "stock markets have predicted nine out of the last five recessions" and I'm not sure this particular stock market turnaround is going to be the herald of bad times again, but I do think that bad times are around the corner again soon - particularly in the United States. The economic policies have just been too wildly optimistic and unbalancing. I see it coming unhinged fairly soon.
While that may mean that manufacturing wages tank again, making the United States a relatively cheaper place to produce, at the same time the United States also needs to carry demand for the product. While Armada and FFG's other games are sold elsewhere, of course, it seems to be that the US remains the bulk of the market. If wages and employment decline, and their customers having to tighten their belts, I see them shutting the game down and focusing on X-Wing and Legion.

Dear lord, no! A main factor of Armada's attractiveness to me is not having to paint the models. After years of Warhammer where I was forced to paint hundreds of miniatures, I will never ever return to the dark age of painting. It's the main reason why I completely skip the new game.

Well. I repaint or mod all mine, so different strokes for different folks!

Painted can be repainted. Satisfying the painter.
Unpainted doesn’t satisfy the non painter.
If you have to choose one or the other, that’s the choice to make.
For everything else, there’s isopropyl.

However, for that entire time, it has also been the case that certain FFG Armada products have not been available. My brother and I were lucky enough to buy up the last Squadron I packs in Omaha (2 each of Rebels and Imps), and we also picked up just about the last Quasar and Hammerhead packs in town too. So we have been fortunate on that end, but one ship eludes us, and that is the Arquitens. It's simply not to be found anywhere, except on Ebay for highway robbery prices.
This is a minor frustration at worst, but it did get me thinking. Just off the top of my head, I can't recall another example where a toy or card/game company routinely has a 6-month or longer break in their supply chain availability for popular items, and not just Armada but other product lines too. It's ridiculous. Yet when that delay happens, most people just shrug and say, "Well that's FFG for you." But surely this is having a noticeable and negative impact on FFG's bottom line. After all, if there is demand for a product but no product is available, that that hurts not only FFG but the game and the customer as well.
What seems clear is that FFG does not have full control over their own production needs. So why not start with something low key, like a card production facility in North America? Heck, if a wholly-owned facility is out of the question I bet that there are publishers right here who would love a shot at FFG's business. Yeah yeah, I hear you saying already, but Cav, MOAR PRICES! And admittedly I don't know how that would look. But I do know that FFG could claim a win simply by bringing business home.
Partially due to the fact that a certain podcast who was good for the popularity of the game but bad for the technical side of it (basically Kurt Cobane for Armada) bought like 6 each so lots of other people feel the need too. I would recommend finding players around you and asking if they will sell any of their 12 they have collecting dust.
