Well, that's updated the first post.
There are a couple of interesting implications from this - Lion and Phoenix probably have Holdings, but the Unicorn probably don't. The predicition of 5 Dynasty 4 conflict is still holding up fairly well.

So, I just remembered a ruling that if Unicorn triggers Endless Plain's ability, it counts as the opponent breaking the province. Which means Unicorn can now break their own Endless Plain to honor and ready Kamoko. Worth it?

Honestly? Yes, because it also has a shot at killing one of their bodies, but only in a Seeker of Water deck for greater equity.
Any Phoenix looking to play Gift of Amaterasu?
I love the art on it, but I don't think I'd want to play it. If it cost 0, I'd try it out, but not as it stands. I do like playing Path of Man, but 1 is too much just to honor a character.

Play Inquisitive Ishika, use it on a Fire conflict, boom! Free. 😉

So you have to have Inquisitive Ishika in play, have Gift of Amaterasu on hand, be at a fire conflict, and win said conflict by 5 or more... to honor one character.
Seems easy.

Phoenix comborific strategy at its finest, lol.
Yeah, as much as I like my Ishika, Inquisitive Ishika's never justified her cost to me. Maybe when we get more spells I can make a deck that will consistently get 2-3 discounts from her, but the underlying problem is that paying for conflict cards is not good, and a deck that consistently utilizes Inquisitive Ishika's ability is a deck that suffers more when you don't have her in play.
But I guess if I'm playing Path of Man, I can just jam one of these next to it, play them with one paying for the other, and try and just snowball every game. Swing hard, honor dudes, keep swinging hard.

Kamoko is no clan champion? She's "just" a Battle Maiden.
Duplicate, sorry.

I could see it as a 1 of, because winning by 5 or more is pretty easy, but chances are high that I will cut it after some games.

- Crane - Doji Kuwanan
- Lion - Matsu Tsuko or Kitsu Motso (Tsuko might be a 5 in the future)
- Phoenix - Isawa Eju
- Scorpion - Shosuro Hametsu (or Shosuro Hyobu?)
- Unicorn - Utaku Kamoko or Shinjo Yasamura
Any opinions?
Well, I called Lion and Unicorn and was in the ballpark for Phoenix (wrong Master).
I'm going to modify my Crane suggestion - with all the duelling, it's going to be Toshimoko.

Isn't she the Utaku daimyō? Not that she needs it to kick butt...

According to the traits she isn't the Utaku Daimyo. Given that CotE is a recap, it has to be her mother at that point.

Her mother was killed by a lion samurai when she was a child. She chose her mother's name in her gempukku. So yeah ,she is the Utaku daimyo

Maybe that didn't happen in this setting? What was and wasn't carried over from O5R is in a permanent state of Schrödinger's Setting until someone from the story team speaks up.
Or maybe they just missed adding that trait, what do I know?
Any idea of anybody's getting strongholds in Children? I feel kinda bad about Unicorn having 3 stronghold options (assuming you still consider their original a legit option) while most clans still only have one. I know the rest of the clans' packs are coming out in 2019, but that could be a long wait.

No, a stronghold should be number 1, and that’s already the spoiled Air province.

There have been numerous changes to the titled characters in the setting so far, so I take this to mean that Kamoko isn't the daimyo, rather than there being a mistake.

As Daimyo she would probably get fewer opportunities to fight and instead, have to deal with the day to day minutia that the role entails. It seems to me that Kamoko not being Daimyo makes more sense.

I hope for a Shinobi that interacts with poisons (costing one less or recycle). Or an effect if the target is equiped with a poison attachment

There is always Shosuro Hametsu (poison master)

Nah, I still think it's going to be Kuwanan. He, like all the other known 4-costers, were featured fairly heavily in the printed fiction. I suspect Toshimoko will appear in the Crane pack or possibly also in CotE, but as a 5-coster.

Toshimoko as the head instructor of the Kakita Dueling Academy should likely be a 5-coster. That said he should also one would expect feature heavily in a set themed around dueling.
