First Campaign - Rebels (help!)

By AdmiralRaddushes, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi folks! I am seeking feedback on two rebel fleets for my first CC campaign. These are something close to what I would like the “end state” for my two fleets to look like, but I am very open to tweaks.

My opponent and I are each flying two fleets and finished the first campaign round with a draw, each taking one victory and one loss.

My boy Dodonna was a boss and overwhelmed his Vader list with 2 x Cymoons and an Interdictor. My biggest takeaway here was to find a way to rely a bit less on my squads, since I expect my opponent to bring more next round.

My second fleet was originally an Ackbar list, which his other fleet (Motti with Kuat, Demo, Arq, Interdictor) was able to park right in front of with the Kuat. It totally neutered my broadsides and tripped up the entire congo line. I got tabled so badly in that match that it made me want to retire Ackbar and call up his cheaper fish face cousin, hence the Raddus list I’m considering here.

Everything with a * is already purchased in the campaign, the rest is hypothetical

I’m more comfortable with the Dodonna list, so I’ve been tweaking the Raddus list... I’m thinking that Raddus will use a different flagship depending which opposing fleet he pairs with.

If facing 3+ medium/small base ships, he’d be on the MC80 and hopefully use it’s size and the threat of the MC30 to herd a few smaller ships nearby to one another. That pairs well with a Raddus drop of the MC75 Ordnance Cruiser with hardend bulkheads and WAB right on top of them. Likely using the faster MC30 as a delivery method.

If on base defence or under the gun of multiple Cymoons, I may keep the MC30 off the table for round 1 as the Raddus drop. That way both tanky large base ships are out early, and they can soak up damage while waiting for a nice double arc Admo drop opportunity.

And finally, if playing a mobility based objective, or otherwise threatened by something that wants to barrel in on me (like a Kuat ISD), I’d keep Raddus back on the Pelta, and start the game with the MC80 off the table. Ideally, I’d be able to position with the MC30 / MC75 to Raddus in the MC80 right in the path of the largest imperial threat. With RBD, tanky tech, and QBT the MC80 would be happy to trip up a large ship, chill out in front of it, and keep it in position. Meanwhile other faster ships get behind it, or bum rush the objective(s). Parked like this, I expect the MC80 could both give and take a respectable amount of punishment.

I don’t expect to face heavy squads with my opponent, but if it happens I’ll probably be forced to rush his carrier, Shara and Tycho won’t buy me a ton of time under heavy fire

The reason there is APT on the Mc75 instead of WAB is that you can only get a max of 3 WAB damage on an attack, once. The APT gives you and extra face up damage every time against the target you're already shooting. personally, I wouldn't use WAB without sato. I'd use external racks on the pelta, because its cheep and gives it a little extra punch. I also put APT on the Mc30. I just think its better than external on Mc30s (but that's my opinion). I got rid of XI-7 to pay for this. if you want, though, you can keep ex-racks and XI-7 on the Mc30 and get rid of hardened bulkheads.

p.s. Unfortunately, you can only change your fleet (e.g. move your admiral to a different ship) before you declare fleet battles.
