Docking and Outer Rim Pioneer - Sum Falcon

By Yakidoodle, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi,

Q1: Can Outer Rim Pioneer let the Falcon Shoot during engagement phase while docked?

I'm thinking if I will have Qi'ra as crew and dock an Outer Rim Pioneer. Basically Falcon can shoot while at range zero of an asteroid without suffering asteroid effects.

Q2: Is it possible to dock the escape craft to the falcon in the middle of the game?

  1. Given the "Co-Pilot" ability of the Outer Rim Pioneer , if the ship is docked , then the Scum Falcon is able to perform attacks while overlapping an asteroid.
  2. The rules for docking and deploying allows certain ships to dock (or re-dock) multiple times, with a relevant ship. You need to be at Range 0 of an eligible carrier ship (unless a particular upgrade allows you to dock from further out). A given ship may dock or deploy (but not both) during the System Phase.

(I tend to put Tobias Beckett in my escape craft, deploy at Range 0 of my YT-1300, use his ability at the end of setup, then dock during round one system phase before anyone's moved)

That's super clever, I love it!

Thanks!

Where do you find the rule to allow docking during the game? To my knowledge the only way for the Escape Craft to dock is if it's done before deployment, as the title card states...

Check page 10 of the Rules Reference, about halfway down the DOCK entry.
