Are Saw’s Renegades models going to be fixed?

By Libero03, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Hi, I'm new x-wing player joining in 2.0 and the only reason I didn't buy Saw's Renegades yet is the x-wing's sticky s-foils problem.

Are those models going to be fixed in future reprints? When this may happen? I'm eager to fly renegades but I care about models quality too much to enjoy them at this moment.

You can fix it yourself, it's really easy. This was posted a while back, I found it extremely helpful and did both of mine without issue:

FFG fixed the models by not using gummy bears as adhesive in the 2.0 X-Wings (T-65 expansion and core set); so it is only logical that future reprints of Saw's Renegades will be like the 2.0 X-Wings...when that would occur is anybody's guess...

OK thanks. That's my assumption as well. As for fixing it by myself I watched the video already and said "oh no no no that's way beyond my skill" :)

I'd probably broke it and burn it at first step.

I would trade my fixed ones with yours, but I doubt you're local to me. (Just checked; you're in Poland. I'm in California.)

In which case, ask someone in your gaming group if they can help, or fix them for you. X-wing folks are pretty helpful, mostly.

If it's any help, I've heard a rumor that Saw's Renegades would be reprinted with 2.0-only components and 2.0 packaging, so likely also with the better models. No idea when that would be. But I will also second the suggestion of asking someone else for help. X-Wing people in my experience are usually glad to help.

Soak them in a bath of WD-40 for a Week to 2 Weeks (Depends how much crap is in them). Take a small container fill it so it'll cover the engines when placed standing up on the back of the engines, spray between the joints. Once a day Move the S-foils open and closed, put back in WD-40 bath. This does not harm the platic, paint job, or wash. I've done this with 3 of mine and two of a friends. They come out working the same as the 2.0 X-wings.

Interesting... How deep should it cover the engines? Like R2 deep? Whole wings deep?

I do the Whole wings deep, as the socket goes up to just behind the R2 Unit. One took me 1 week of soaking and flexing the wings my other two took two weeks of soaking, and opening & Closing the S-foils. Have the wings open and swirl them if you don't want to spray into the joint every day.
