My " old" list is Soontir, Whisper and Redline (currently 5-1) . I really like Soontir at 54pt with Predator. But my Redline is a bit too phat, with two bombs and ablative plating at 68pt total. Redline just dies often, and always gives away half points. Whisper is fine with Vader and Collision Detector was great. But I would like something slightly better.

The new ace should fill a 70-85pt slot, bring enough offense to the table and has to be maneuverable.

The three options I saw are Inqui, a Defender with Juke, or Vader. Grandinquisitor at 73pt (SR & FCS) is not something I see working well. He wants to spend 2 force per turn, and that is not very practical. The Defender is too expensive if it's Rexler+Juke, and a Onyx just doesn't convince me. But Vader could be amazing! So here's a new list:

Predator (2)

Darth Vader (70)
Supernatural Reflexes (12)
Fire-Control System (3)

"Redline" (44)
Trajectory Simulator (3)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
Seismic Charges (3)

Total: 198

On the plus side:

• Vader!
• Soontir still the same
• Redline slimmer, but still has the seismics to board control and mess with the (popular and frequent) abilities that use obstacles. And the extra distance means I don't need ablative plating anymore

The downsides:

• That list is 198pt, so only 2pt bid. I could remove predator, but the rest is basically non-negotiably important

Thoughts? Suggestions? Experiences? Comparisons with my old list?

I like the list, vader is one of my absolute favorites to fly. As long as he goes after a single target he can put out some good damage. I've been looking for a third ship to fly with vader and soontir but redline seems like the punch I need. Hope you don't mind if I use it!

(I got the tip with Redline in the Krayt thread some weeks ago, long before release. And today I listened to the recent scum&villainy episode (released on Friday) and there Calen already described the same ships together. I don‘t know his exact list, but it is clear that I‘m not the first to put it together, nor did get there all on my own.)

Honestly my friend, I'd run that Vader and Fel with Concs or Barrage and AdSen on Red - full mods even when he inevitably reds or bumps!
