Irrepressible Optimism {mafia} Concluded

To be fair, I’ve only made a suggestion against picking a more experienced player D1 in case he flipped town, which he did. The conversation and lack of a night cycle leave me with no idea where to go from there.

In contrast, when I first started playing Mafia I pursued a Lynch veterans first policy on the grounds that they would be too dangerous as scum.

Vis is experienced enough to know he needed to get a post off before bedtime to stay alive on a D1 round these parts.

Lol, that wasn't serious I also don't recall accusing genghis.

I do think LP is suspicious, and a little bit GNIPs,

Am I the only one who thinks it’s more than a little sketchy that Matt actually held on to LP’s vote during that last round? Even when he seemed to suggest he might be leaning against LP himself.

I remain leery of both of them. Now more then ever. But I’m still baffled by anyone who would give his vote away.

Table feelings @PodRacer

Oh Gengis - you really won’t be satisfied until you lynch me as Scum in a game will you? But alas for thee, this is the third game in a row I which I must deny you that ‘pleasure’.

I can almost hear @ebon hawk saying “good, good, give into the hate!”

I’m off for some shut eye. If I’m still alive in the morning than huzzah! but I accept with regret the straw-grasping impetus of a quick move to clear me from contention/suspicion by lynching. Not sure I can say anything I haven’t already to dissuade from doing so! I truly thought it was Vis and will need to do a complete reread to form a new theory but at 0133 it’s a wee bit late!

so @The Jabbawookie if you had to rank us you know from maybe suspicious to maybe not suspicious what order would we be in?

I’m actually loath to vote for you. You’re certainly among the most enjoyable and active players in the bunch. (Plus, you haven’t even said “neat” yet!)

But from my view, you and Matt are the only ones who have done anything that I think would actually be a super smart scum move.

{Ok, I'm going to be travelling the next 24-36 hours (look for me on MOTF in a few days time! Woot!) so I will only be on my phone and limited at that.}

{I'm going to ask that whenever a player VOTES or UNVOTES, that they copy and edit the vote list from the previous player who voted. Let's make this GREEN in colour. You are all adults (I assume) so I trust you not to cheat or be too incompetent. In the event of uncertainty, I will sort it out when / if I can. Cheers!}

And hold on just a second! I have most certainly NOT tried to lynch you the last three games.

In fact, on the last game I’m the one who SAVED you from certain death on N1 with your own medkit and then did my best through the rest of the game to distract everyone from you being the true Doc.

This is true, he performed a truly magnificent save for you LP

@PodRacer um above i wouldn't work this hard for info if i knew who done it lol

This doesn’t add up.

Again, this could easily be *exactly* the kind of thing scum would do to try to project towniness.

Doesn’t mean he’s scum either, of course.

But this kind of cuts-both-ways-but-I’m-gonna-sell-it-like-it-could-only-be-one-way statement making should be called out for what it is.

Oh wow.

I just reread the setup and missed this on my first pass through (I admittedly skimmed it).

So two Imperial agents, but they don't know each others' identities. Only the agents know who the saboteur is, but the saboteur doesn't know who the agents are. And of course no night means no night chat.

This might make it easier for scum to hide, as they don't know who all the other scum are, and might seem more townie through ignorance.

Interesting set up.

We will need EVERY town vote (6/10) or a mix of town and scum votes in order to kill someone. That's unfortunate.

That wasn't a response to your post, Caldias, just something I realized.

Or maybe Scum would just lurk, and comment on setup spec to look busy...!!

hahahaha, maybe. Not trying to lurk, but not much to say with all the hot gambling action going on.

I'm not sure about Matt being scum, he seems to be actively trying to make sense, or could be epic scum.

Only other read I have is where is GNIPs?

He's sleepin' which is what I should be doin!

Bummer about Vis.

I still haven't any reason to change my read. Matt seems a bit more town to me today, though only a bit.

I'll have to read through the thread to see if I can glean any clues.

Lord Preyer: He definitely can’t be the saboteur look at the fact that 9 of the 10 other players through shade at him he could be a badie though.

I've been thinking about this. It isn't necessarily true. There is a high probability that he isn't the saboteur, but it isn't 100%. Yes, 9 players threw shade on him, but only 4 actually voted , which is significant. It is entirely possible that some of the other 5 only threw shade on him to be seen to fit in, and had no intention of actually voting him. We cannot, therefore, completely remove the possibility that he is the saboteur.

Thanks! And don’t worry, “N—t” is coming...

I would say to this and @GhostofNobodyInParticular ‘s last post on the (accurate) analysis of the risk that I could be the saboteur is that it would be a bold play by me as the saboteur to draw so much attention to myself and to risk a certain Scuminess suspicion.

The optimal play for the saboteur is to keep a low profile balanced against a desire to maintain focus on other players. I’m still trying to figure out what optimal play for their Scum allies would be.

My reread of all posts makes me more than eager to hear a little more from our shipmates who have been a little quieter...

So I'm gonna

For what I said yesterday and my new speculation about BW not throwing shade at you[gnips]

However I realize this really cant be defend by GNIPS so I'm gonna ask @Bertie Wooster why he thinks GNIPS is a good fellow.

When I say shade I mean something I interpret as a willingness to actually vote for said individual. not just a maybe. Clearly opinionated on my end

Yes! But the reason you were in my quarters in the first place was because you suspected me, right @Gengis Jon ?
