Yea. Pretty tragic
Maybe a secret hint : "we are working on Descent 3 with even more beautiful characters" and "Descent 2 ist over" ?
You guys REALLY need to get some help ... ? ? ?
This on-going non-reality fantasy across multiple threads that has many of you thinking that we will ever see new physical D2e content, and then talking about it ad nauseam, and then extrapolating every little hidden hint to back up the claim ... well ... it gave me a good laugh this morning. Well Done.
Now, go get some help ... LOL
Edited by any2cardsThe last part of the sentence says it all:
QuoteDescent: Journeys in the Dark (DJ01)
Would not be interested in a (DJ03) because I am completely happy with Sword and Sorcery from Ares Games, but I would buy a conversion kit for all of my Descent 2 collection.
If I had to bet, I would about guarantee the greedy people at Fantasy Card Games would put all the missing Heroes and monsters from (DJ02) as the base game of (DJ03) to try and get people who own the complete collection from (DJ02) to buy (DJ03).

Actually DJ01 is the Second Edition base set. DJ02 was the Conversion Kit, DJ03 was Lair of the Wyrm. Descent First Edition used completely different product codes.
If they make a Descent Third Edition it will probably use a new set of SKUs to separate it from Second Edition.
Edited by Proto PersonaThat makes sense.
I find it lame they even act like that article is a article about Descent, that is about Runewars, and if I want a miniatures game I would buy the new A Song of Ice & Fire from Cool Mini or Not (Which I have been, your loss FCG). I have no love anymore for Fantasy Card Game.
Edited by NozlenI think a set of skirmish rules and unit cards would be nice I'd pay $40-50 for a set of cards, a bunch of scenarios, some map tiles (to match with the core set, of course), and a few new figures. It doesn't even need the fancy skirmish deck like Imperial Assault

That'd be awesome.
Edited by CharmyA major shot in the foot for FFG this one in terms of frustrating their fanbase, I'm sure I'm not the only one VERY annoyed at the fake news / clickbait nature of the title, it's not Descent news it's Runewars Miniatures news and to imply it was the former was a really low trick on the part of FFG, especially when as great as RWM is it's rather rubbing salt in the wound too, a kind of hey, you know that game you love that we've done nothing with for ages, well this is how we turned it into this other game, what, you thought you were getting some news on the game you love?..... FFG aren't always very good at customer relations and PR.
Maybe it does still have that keep dreaming bit of hope, there remains the fact Descent is mentioned first in the related games on the back of 'Realms of Terrinoth', there's still a lot of new Terrinoth content coming out or only recently released (namely RWM, Heroes and Genesys) hence the logic they might not want any Descent stuff to compete with their own product lines SO could it be clickbait the other way too- to get RWM followers to think about Descent? Plus keeping Descent on the gamer radar generally and promoting the Terrinoth games as a whole? I still kinda feel FFG might still be sitting on some future Descent news ready for when they're planning on hatching that particular dragon egg. For now, however, I hate to say it but FFG are still failing the great legacy of Descent massively and will be until they fill in the gaps and poor decisions on new versions such as not carrying all of the 1e lieutenants/avatars over to 2e. Which I will keep reminding them of in the hope they might actually listen even though their history of updating/changing games gives me little hope.

There is no help *smiles* - we are hooked. Some of us have 99% geek genes. Not me of course hehe. And a certain club that kept banging on about wooden coasters and a certain theme park eventually got one at said theme park after much nagging, it took a few decades, so fan persistence can pay off. FFG may read the forums! Plus it's a prompt that we can always make anything missing or not how we want it ourselves so it's good for other players finding out about older stuff etc- a few of my friends didn't know some of the 1e characters for example. There are discussions ongoing about gap-filling DIO (do it ourselves!).
Maybe we should collectively agree to ban ourselves from mentions of new Descent stuff until there's mentions of new Descent stuff and stick to any such DIO discussion. Probably also blame modern news (repeat the same news a million times) and social media, it's easy to get into a habit of repeating yourself.
So, about that new Descent stuff... (*dodges volley of arrows, tomatoes and unpleasant stuff*)

My respect, that's the most diplomatic statement I've ever read.
I find FFG choices for new stuff&reprint production communication, as their PR policy rather confusing and not very reliable. Still they seem to got whole Descent core+small&large box exp. line freshly reprinted at the moment, and sadly whole single plastic stuff being unavailable for quite some time. Two days ago, previously not listed Trollfens is now shown as "in stores" along with other expansions. I hope that is a sign of some new content coming for Xmas, but my hopes are not great here:D
